Was speeding today in Taylor. City officer pulled me over and cited me for "impeding traffic". He said this doesn't come with points.
This citation is $150
Should i be happy about the "no points"? Certainly not happy about the amount.
Thanks. I'll hang up and listen.
Coach Dantonio is my Spartan!
yes. no points. pay up. you get no points, city gets more money. everyone's happy!
Well a 5 over ticket going to range from 100-120. So you decide
You got a gift. Don't be a bitch. The insurance hit would have been way more than the $150.
"Leave the gun.....take the cannoli"
"It's not your job to be as confused as Nigel."
You should wipe your ass with the check that you use to pay the fine. Small victories.
Would you rather be paying $150 AND have points? That seems like the only alternative -- most traffic fines are around that. I paid the same for running a red light and for going 5 over (separate occasions).

Before you ask, yes, I am a girl.
Impeding traffic is often what other tickets that carry points (like speeding and such) is changed to if you fight it in court.
I'd happily pay the $150 for no points.
There's a time and a place for everything and it's called college.
Thanks for the responses folks. Haven't had a speeding ticket since 2000.
It appears the smallest speeding ticket would have been $80.
Of course, im happy about the no points aspect.
Impeding traffic should not show for your insurance so be happy your only going to pay $150. a 5 over speeding ticket would increase you insurance rate by over $100.
does the ticket say "speeding" but the officer marked it for impeding. If so then if you fight it , you'll be fighting the speeding ticket, If it only says impeding then you have a good chance of the officer not showing and getting it dismissed.
Don't be taken in when they say there will be no points. There are driver license points and insurance points. Just because you get a ticket with no points does not mean you will not have insurance points and have your car insurance increase. In this case no insurance points too.
Was the officer a chick? PICS
Good point - I got a ticket in Indiana once for 5mph over. There were "0 points" associated with the ticket, but my insurance company still knew about it when I changed my address.
Of course, they also knew about a speeding ticket that I had fought and got thrown out (cop didn't show), so maybe they're just insane about finding things like that out.
I think you are getting suckered. I think the agent is all: "Yeah about that ticket you got." And then you are all: "Hey, the cop didn't show it got thrown out." And the agent is all: "So you admit you did get a ticket."
Pay it and be done with it. You're lucky you didn't get a speeding ticket, it would cost you more in the long run.
You should never ever want a female police officer pulling you over.
Yeah, I thought that as my insurance company told me about it, but they had the exact dates and locations that I received the tickets.
or pay with ass pennies
If you get enough ass pennies into circulation, you'll have an advantage over everyone.
I always go to argue my tickets, just to avoid the points. Always works. SO you just saved yourself that time. Easy Button.
If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day.
50$ says OP was on Telegraph
For the love of Trevor...™
I think an added advantage is it is not on your records, so if you get pulled over a year from now in another jurisdiction and they pull up your license they don't see this ticket. They will see a speeding ticket however, and then it's all "What have here is a failure to communicate".
Double or nothing it was just coming out from under the underpass at Ecorse?
To clarify. Impeding is a no point, NON-ABSTRACTED offense...meaning it never gets reported to the Secretary of State meaning further, its as if it never happened for driving record points or insurance points. Pay it and be done with it. This will be between you and the 23rd district court and nobody else.
