As a Michigan fan, I personally do not think that we will easily win and think it will be a battle and close game. I was very nervous about this game near the start of the year because your D looked elite and your offense I thought would be good. I still think your D is good (not elite) and should be tough on Denard, as always.
The only reason(s) I feel a bit more confident in a Michigan win are:
1) home field - yes, you beat us on our home field twice with RR, but honestly lookin back RRs teams were so ill equipped to compete with you guys. While we're still not well tooled right now, we match up much better than in The RR yrs.
2) your offense is very bad. I though Macwell would be good this year, but ie watched you guys play several times and it is clear that outside of Bell and Sims, there is a serious lack of playmakers on your offense. Very clear. You D is good enough to neutralize some of this though.
The problem this year is that armpunt knows he doesnt have to win the game like the last 2 years. We were able to control the clock and field position with our offense and put UM and armpunt in come from behind making him one dimensional. When you do that you can really pin your ears back and force him to turn it over like Bama and ND did and like we did the last 2 years. How are we going to establish that lead and field position with this offense??
No question the O is seriously anemic, but I think the D--not the O--is going to have a break out game.
The D is going to have to play their most disciplined and inspired game this season for MSU to win. And I think they do it this weekend.

If you can do a half-assed job of anything, you're a one-eyed man in a kingdom of the blind.

Truthfully. We need a quick score. Like against Iowa last week. Take some pressure off and put some pressure on them. I'd also like to attempt to take the crowd out of it early. There's gonna be 100k screaming for green blood at kickoff. A quick score (or 2 (please please)) along w a stout defensive first half will set the tone. If we get them worried later in the game we will win
Thanks for your input, five straight coming soon
Shocker ERCauswell comes in with a negative take. Huge fuckin' shocker.
You know the defense did hold arguably the two best offenses in the B10 in check pretty well, right? The same two offenses that combined for 101 points in their meeting Saturday right?
I'm sure you knew that though.
This times a zilly.
But hey, who knows. As long as Denard is quarterback, I'd never count us out.
Considering Bell's lack of success against UofM last season I would assume Roushars gameplan will be to test the UofM secondary with Burbridge and Sims(if healthy).
289 career tackles isn't too shaby
Come on man there is no way you can sit there an tell me that OSU's offense is better than Alabama's

The defensive line for Michigan was probably better last year, but then so was our offensive line.
Blower bitches acting like blower bitches.
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
What happens if you throw out Illinois who has the worst offense in the Big Ten, or if you throw out UMass who is basically a HS team? Give me a fucking break, you can't pick which games to include and not include.
Stats are for losers.
You apathetic assholes need to stop making excuses before the game is even played.
I cant say MSUs D will shut down Denard after letting Miller absolutely abuse them at Spartan Stadium. People who think this D is even close to being as good as it was last year live under a rock.
Tanny, why are you an MSU fan?
RE: Jake Ryan, he may be the best defensive player besides Bullough to play in the game Saturday.
To the OP, when you lose to Iowa at home, um winning seems more realistic. When the OC is still the same guy, making the same calls, losing seems to be the outcome. When you dont have your top receiver and your up against a team that is not great on the pass, losing seems plausible.
Absolutely abuse them what the fuck?
Have you seen what the kid does in his other games? We 100% held him in check
After Iowa, the top receiver is clearly Burbridge.
And the good thing about college football is you can suck one week and completely turn it on during a rivalry game. Dantonio teams always turn it on against Michigan.
Considering Fitz's lack of success against MSU last season I would assume Borgess' gameplan will be to test the MSU secondary with DRob's pinpoint accuracy.
You didnt watch the game did you? Miller abused, yes, abused our D. Miller ran for 123 yards, averaging 6 yards per carry and threw for another 180 yards.
But yes, yes, MSUs D 100% held him in check.
Bell has 14 carries for 98 yards and a TD in two games against UM in his career numb-nuts.
Just because you couldn't stop Baker and we rode him doesn't mean Bell "struggled". Continue to blow more nonsense out of your ass, your fanbase is quite adept at it.
OK so 300 total yards. From a quarterback. Meh. You do know that he is 80% of their offense right?
We also forced two turnovers out of him and held him to 17 points, but nah he absolutely ass-raped us
Not to mention that Miller is a thousand times better than Denard. You actually have to look out for his arm as well as his legs.
Yeah but he abused us though.
We honestly have no chance, is there anyway we can plead for mercy? Michigan is the most DOMINANT 4-2 team in history. I mean, if they whipped Purdue, UMass and Illinois and squeaked one out against Air Force, its pretty obvious we have no shot.
