I think I've just decided to lay off. One bookie I know said wait until the last minute and bet Pitt cuz the line may go to 6. I've also read other people say they expect Cinci to demolish them.
I am hoping and betting on a Cincy blow-out victory. Good sharing thoughts with you. Look forward to more profitable discussions in the future.
Right back at ya. That's more or less what I wanted from this thread. Good, thoughtful discussion on something some of us love to do, make sports a little more interesting by betting on them.
Line has move to 6 now. ML was at -190, now at -240.
Scary when the public slams something that hard. Line has moved a lot which means the sharps must be hitting it too.
I like Pitt to cover. This morning public was 79% on Cincinnati line moved from 4.5 to 6 and has since settled at 5. I hate when the public is all over something like this, usually if a line looks to good to be true, it usually is. Plus backs against the wall for Pitt, I think Tino and Graham come out firing.
Wishing I would have bet bigger on cinci.
Took the under because of Cincinnati veteran defense. Now I'm hoping that they force Pitt to a goose egg and don't score 50 on their own.
Yeah so far so good for the Public and Pitt looks teeeerrible. Hopefully I didn't sway anyone, I was just trying to provide information I found out there. I do wish I had bet it now. Hindsight is 20/20.
I have read Utah is solid for tomorrow.
Got it at -5, so I am up 12 at half. Wish me luck!
I know there is still a half of play left, but Tino looks like a complete joke. Taking delay of games, taking sacks, just seems to be playing without any common football sense. As long as he's in the game Cinci backers should be just fine.
Holy crap the line on our game is down to -19.5
Nice job! Glad you got the easy winner!
Surprises me some too....they must be really expecting a letdown. If our first half line somehow gets under 10....I think I might go big on it.
I think part of the issue is the sharps betting early realize the Enos thing and know we won't go in and embarrass them. And maybe we are overconfident...I don't know. CMU with all the returning starters was on some people's radars for turning around their ATS record from last year. I mean this is their bowl game.
Good idea on the first half line. I'll have to keep an eye on that one.
Also need to take a look at the Utah/Utah State match-up for tonight.
Yeah I'm nervous on Utah/Utah State tonight. I guess the Utah State QB may be legit.
Couple things I found:
LINE: Oddsmakers opened Utah as a 7-point road favorite which climbed to -8 before buyback on the home side brought the spread to -7.5. The total opened at 53 and climbed as high as 54 before dropping to 52.5 points.
ABOUT UTAH (1-0): The Utes flashed a dominating defense and a ball-control offense in their opener, albeit against an overmatched Northern Colorado team. Utah’s defense, anchored by sure-fire first-round pick in defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, held the Bears to 114 total yards. Meanwhile, senior running back John White (24 carries, 119 yards, touchdown) paced an offense that set an Rice-Eccles stadium record with a 21-play, 91-yard drive, which took 10:42 off the clock. Elsewhere, fourth-year junior quarterback Jordan Wynn (he was granted a medical hardship) appears healthy after undergoing two shoulder injuries in a 10-month period. He finished 19-of-27 for 200 yards with two TDs and an interception. Both touchdown passes went to emerging sophomore tight end Jake Murphy, the son of baseball Hall of Famer Dale Murphy.
ABOUT UTAH STATE (1-0): The Aggies, a popular pick to win the Western Athletic Conference in their final season in the league (they’re headed to the Mountain West Conference in 2013), racked up 581 yards of offense against Southern Utah. Sophomore Joe Hill ran for 116 yards and three scores and fellow sophomore Chuckie Keeton passed for 304 yard and two touchdowns. Keeton regained the starting job this spring after an injury forced him to miss the final five games of last season. Keeton showed his potential when he nearly led the Aggies to a season-opening upset of Auburn in 2011.
Utah has won 20 of the last 22 in this series. Utah has also won 12 straight by an average of 24.1 points. Problem is I think a lot of the games were at Utah. Let's see what comes up throughout the day.
I'm thinking of betting some baseball tonight.
Thinking about the Tigers too....Scherzer on the mound has been amazing and at Even that is good value.
Playing Wash TT over 4.5 too.
No football for tonight probably. Can't get a feel.
Is it standard protocol for Bovada to have all of the NCAA FB spread lines circled until gameday? They're orange now but they were all red two days ago.
I bet there I'm pretty sure it means the line is subject to change/removal shortly so bet on it quickly if you want to get it at the spread you're desiring.
Yeah I think that's what the orange means, I was just wondering why they were all red a few days ago. When they're red you can't make parlay bets.
Just mean they have lower betting limits on those games. It bit me some last weekend on my MSU-Alabama teaser limiting me to 275. Was able to tease more the following day with Nebraska.
The lower betting limits could be because of injury news or it is early and they are unsure of their line. Get out of there if you can.
Utah State +7 tonight. Home dog on ESPN, in-state rivalry. I'll take it.

I normally don't bet often and when I do I usually only deposit $20 at a time. Makes the games more interesting but don't want to lose a ton. Put $10 on MSU to cover -7 last week. I have $3.15 left in the account so I threw it all on a parlay.
Ohio state -16.5
Texas Tech -16.5
Bought points on some of the games to make the spreads more favorable. Should be a fun Saturday!
