not until rules change (oversigning...) and there is a population shift north (most good HS kids come from the south)

Sure. Assuming in the future I can go back in time to 1952.
HELL YES....what a relief man. I was reeling at the thought of bama losing and nd getting KSU for their obvious natty championship wet dream. As I said earlier: FUCKING JOKE nd gets to play the schedule they do and the SEC teams run the gauntlet they have to. I hope to HELL bama plays nd because they will lay WASTE to them. nd is a complete mirage.....to beat PITT by 3 in triple OT AT HOME?
Oregon should leap frog them but it won't happen. nd's only moderately tough game is at usc. At first glance it would seem USC is falling apart but we'll see how nd does travelling across the country with EVERYTHING on the line. USC will have nothing to lose: I'm thinking nd will gag in that game.
Oregon will jump ND if they win out. Settle down
Oregon already is ahead in both human polls that count
If we played Bama we'd probably lose 14-13
I AM KIND, SMART, POWERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, TERRIFIC, AND TREMENDOUS
Our Oline the year we played Bama was better than the Oline we have right now. The only difference with this team is that Maxwell can actually run out of the pocket for his life..as Cousins basically just got hit.
Let's put it this way: #2 LSU did not cross the 50 in last season's NC game.
Which would be just as great. That way ND could blow it in front of a national TV audience, a more deserving team could go to the BCS Title in K State or Oregon and an 11-1 ND would still get hammered by Florida or LSU in the Sugar Bowl. It'd be a win all around.
There is no doubt about it ND will choke big time vs USC
The better question is could we even get a first down?
Not true. Maxwell assumed the fetal position when the Alabama defense took him out of the game.
Reality is we just saw what LSU's ceiling is with top flight QB play at home.
Mettenberger played the best game of his career, the OL played with a chip on its shoulder and the D was lights out with the exception of the last drive of the 2nd half.
There is a reason that program had won 22 straight at home and was 32-1 at home at night under Miles.
good win. Hell of an OL you guys got down there.
gotta say your pass D looked worse than I expected
I want to agree SO badly but........have you SEEN U$C play the last two weeks? My god the dline is getting blown off the ball 5-8 yards down field EVERY PLAY....I want you to be right but dude....only way nd loses to those quitters is if they just crap the bed and don't get off the plane. PLEASE bump this if you're right: I'll gladly eat crow.....
I partially agree, but at some point you just have to tip your hat to Mettenberger.
The guy has a pro-level arm, he just hadn't ever realized his potential. Whether that means our pass D is crap or that he just played lights out remains to be seen.
All I know is that we have at least 2 1st rounders in the secondary (Milliner and Lester) and he made some huge plays tonight.
"crap" is way too harsh.
Just didn't expect Mettenberger to make the bama game is coming out party
If there is one thing we can count on from ND it is shitting the bed on the west coast. Part of me wants to see them win out so they can be utterly embarrassed by Bama in the title game but I would put the farm on them blowing their wad in LA.
as I said before, better WATCH that SC defense play before you bet anything; they've all but quit I'm telling you: it's................weird.
In their last three home games ND has trailed Pitt, BYU and Stanford in the fourth quarter. If not for a pushed FG today the Domer's magical season goes down the drain to a 4-5 Pitt team.
SC played the best offence in the country and were within 10 points with about 8 minutes left to play. ND's offence has looked pathetic at times (against Michigan for instance). I don't think anyone should crown them yet.
