Internet fights over NHL Central Division battles are the best internet fights.
FTR, I did not see said egregious (allegedly) penalty call, so I will not be commenting on it. I will simply keep my head down and take the 2 points.
Haha, I love how you do that every time someone is mean to you.
Act like this place has some importance in the real world some more, you douche.
I agree it was bad, but pylon, 9.9 yard first down, Johnny 5...
i saw a basketball game start last night where the guy that jumped was allowed to gain possession of the ball

Funny how the calls were fine two weeks ago.
Match penalty rescinded. All good.
The match penalty assessed to St. Louis Blues forward David Backes in Friday night's loss to the Detroit Red Wings was rescinded by the NHL on Saturday. Backes was penalized for an illegal hit to the head of Red Wings defenceman Kent Huskins in the third period. However, replays showed that Backes did not make contact with the head of Huskins.
Thank you, Denicos.
This from a Crain's reporter. Not sure why they'd roll this story out on Super Bowl Sunday, but anyway...
@Bill_Shea19: Major news coming from Crain's on Sunday night (Monday in print) on new #RedWings arena.

Probably letting know its gonna be in the old cass corridor where everyone and their brother has said it would be for years.
They are bulldozing my old tailgating spot after the owner said he sold out last year. Said it would be ealy 2013 when Ilitch took over and it was one of just a few properties they still needed.
I can honestly say I had no inside info on this, but there were really only two locations that seemed viable for the new arena. One is behind the Fox, where there are currently a number of Olympia-owned parking lots, and Bookies. I don't think that will be where it goes, though, as that location doesn't seem large enough to support a sports and entertainment district, which is what they're ultimately shooting for. The other location was speculated to be on Woodward just north of 75, which seems most likely. Tons of room for anything they could possibly want to put in. I'd be shocked if it wasn't there.
Even if they broke ground tomorrow, the arena wouldn't be ready for 3 years (or at least that's what we were told). So don't think that this thing will be ready by 2014 or even 2015. It's still a ways off.
Yeah its going to be across the freeway from woodward to the old cass tech high. Then the "district" will cross back over the highway to the empty lots behind fox.. Not sure if they will leave those lots as parking or try to put some over by the new arena
I would imagine you'll see at least one parking structure go up somewhere, likely where those gravel lots are now behind the Fox. Other than that, expect a lot of retail space to pop up basically everywhere.
Holy cow you guys:
Mrazek I get, I guess (if he's going to play, he's not wasted in Detroit, and he's looking better than McCollum, so a better start at goalie); Tatar? I understand that the bottom 2 lines haven't scored yet, but is he the best option? Wow. Bet Cleary takes a seat for a bit.
hopefully they start scoring more on those lines and the Holland is working a trade to fix somethings. I dont believe the doom and gloom people are throwing around. Just a few tweaks and the team could really start clicking.
They need serious help on the blue line, which is what they didn't bring up. Hmmmm.
I think the Wings are doing fine right now. They are decades ahead of the team I saw the first game of the season.
possible showcase for a trade?????
Tatar's been putting the puck in the net in Grand Rapids recently. Had a hat trick on Friday. If I were putting together the lines, using just the 12 best forwards available to the tema, I'd do:
Tatar-Filppula-Cleary/Sammuelsson when healthy
Cleary just hasn't had it recently, and when the wings were at their best in '08/'09, they had a third line of Hudler-Filppula-Samuelsson. Two checking lines is just silly with the amount of talent that the wings have in the system.
The Doctor is in:
One of my bold predictions for this year was Mrazek getting his first win in the NHL. I was hoping it wouldn't actually happen, but it could be soon. Yikes.
