Would faking a deke be considered a deke? My head just exploded
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
I know many of you could care less about the growth of the game here in Nashville, but here is a great article form Grantland about hockey, Nashville, and changing southern tradition over the last generation. Accurately describes that effect that GM and midwest transplants have had on the growth of the sport down here. I'll warn you ahead of time, it is very long.
Hard times and hockey on the Nashville Highway.

then why do they still boo at offsides
As of right now, yes. They're not scoring, but they're getting excellent puck movement (which they weren't getting early in the year) and they're actually getting shots now. Goals will come.

This may be true. I don't have the game taped and can't go back to see it, but I know the rule was put in place (from what I understand) to prevent guys late in one-goal games from simply dropping on all fours and wasting time then playing it with their hand to safety. If the opposing face-off man touches it first, it would seem logical that he could play it with his hand. Like I said, I don't know everything and don't know the exact wording on the rule so it could be. Either way, as you pointed out, it's a moot point now. A lot of guys, in addition to Pav, have been called for that penalty this year.
Sorry for the triple, guys, but I'm just getting back home after a long day. 2 bits of Wings-related news:
1. Gustav Nyquist has, through a misunderstanding, lost possession of his 1st goal puck and score sheet. Help him find it! (see article)
2. The Canucks have unveiled a heritage uniform dating back to the mid-1910s (Vancouver Millionaires) and will be wearing it on March 16 against the Wings. Beware...it's ugly. EGGPLANT! (see photo)
Griffins winger had puck, framed game sheet from first NHL game, auctioned off.
I refuse to help Gus find it!
But you know what he can do? Score another first goal. Then score more after that.
Wings haven't beaten Chicago in regulation at The Joe since October 2009....
God forbid, big day from Mule today? First "Kronwalled" of the season? Maybe some Pasha magic?
Saw another hawks fan wearing a Hossa winter classic Jersey yesterday. Always makes me laugh.
Also Nyquist related, the dude has been killing it in GR the past couple games. 12 points in the past 4 games.
The Doctor is in:
Who wears hockey jerseys around these days? LOL
Seriously though, I miss the days where wearing a jersey around was cool.
Btw, fuck the blackhawks.
This would be fitting to hand them their first regulation loss today.
Does this game actually start at 1?
There are a ton of Blackhawks jersey around Chicagoland nowadays... Even on non game-days such as yesterday.
I still wear my Yzerman jersey inside the house during the playoffs though.
I'm guessing 12:38.
I hate how they always do this.
I was on the money!
Great call number one. Sharp punches Smith in the face, penalty Smith.

Does this surprise you? We never get any calls. Bettman despises the Wings.
Scrappy play by the Comerica sign.
wTF was that about?? nbc lol
If the Wings can get anything from the game today, that would be big. The next six games are as follows, home against Colorado and Edmonton, home and home against CBJ and then at Calgary and Edmonton. I'd love for them to go into that stretch with some momentum so they can really make hay and create some separation from the middle of the pack.
Chicago dominated that period but has nothing to show for it, makes me think we're due for a garbage goal sooner or later
