Ser Patrek of Kings Mountain was put in the book because GRRM lost a football bet.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
I'd still be her man.
Just an FYI:
This is a SPOILER FREE thread meant for people who just watch the show. Talking about what happens in Book 5, or referencing anything that will happen in the future constitutes a spoiler.
Remember, the best part of the books are all the twists and turns; having your expectations built up and then scattered to the winds. Don't deny the people watching the show the same thrills.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
See, there you go . . . leading people to believe there actually is a Book 4 . . . sheesh.

I am sorry for the slight spoiler. Settle the hell down.
Read the books if you want to get the WHOLE story.
Nah, I'd rather it get ruined one spoiler at a time.
Your a retard.
There is a separate thread for book reader discussion that indicates spoilers included in the thread title...I have only read the first book and have myself looked up some spoilers so I know a bunch of what is coming up, and I still think the show is amazing and brings things up in a very exciting matter.
35,600 posts and counting since 09-09-2002. tRCMB Dead Pool Commissioner.
There's also the story of Bill Belichick, I mean, Belicho in Dance With Dragons.
"The galley was also where the ship's books were kept... the fourth and final volume of The Life of the Triarch Belicho, a famous Volantene patriot whose unbroken succession of conquests and triumphs ended rather abruptly when he was eaten by giants.
Or you could go discuss the books in the thread for all the book readers and not come posting spoilers in the clearly titled non spoiler thread and then wonder why we all are pissed at you...
Btw.. Most of us are reading the books for the "whole" story, but may not be as far as the show

I, for one, thought that Dani's next stop was to take Geoffery the F out. Thoes unsullied look like they could take on an army 5 times their size. Man, F that General Grant guy. wish i didn't use my downvotes on Brodson.

Same with Margaery - the actress who plays her is 31 and she is supposed to be in her early teens.
Players play, tough players win.
This blows my mind - you can edit a post I made under your own name WHILE quoting said original post?
Wait, this was probably just 24/7 fucking up.
Again, didn't think what I said was a huge spoiler. Sorry again. I am not used to getting downvoted. I actually don't think I ever had got one before. First time for everything.
"Watch out Pylon," I love the picture of TJ catching the pass from Smoke in our '01' game. I was blocking that play and then almost died on the bottom of the pile from lack of oxygen.
The show is great. I am glad you are reading them. The epicness of them is hard to translate into the show. I was a freak about it I guess. I watched all of the episodes on demand and then went out and read the books over the period of two months.

Jeez dude - settle down. You done goofed, it was fixed. The internet police aren't coming after you.
And yes, you had gotten downvotes; 45 total (but I don't know how many you got today and don't care to look).
Well shit...I am unpopular. I am a novice when it comes to this stuff.
It's all good...just try not to bring stuff up that is unavailable to us HBOers.
The scene with Dany and the slaver was perfect. Drogon, the dragon she was going to trade, is the most powerful of the three. He is named after Kal Drogo.
well i guess book 6 is pretty flushed out. I think he has some work to do, but i think in general the ideas are all there, its just missing the nuance. But with everything that is going to happen in Book 7 i will lose it if this bastard dies.
Your average UofM fan and I have something in common, neither of us went to UofM. Though we do share One major difference, I got Accepted.
I'm terrified to read anything in this thread bc it's no spoilers and I'm smelling spoiler central. Rocky can u please delete the spoiler posts so we can continue the discussion?
the reason is bewbies.
Me too. Not to wrap up this series for the books would be a difficult one to get over.
yeah, but then again almost every character is older. Robb and John Snow are supposed to be 15 and 16. Sansa was 14. I think all the teenage kids got a 3-5 year age bump for the show.
Edit: all this in response to discussion of actor vs. character ages.
Yeah I mean, this wouldn't be the first TV show or movie where the actors seem older than the characters they play should really be. Several reasons for it I'm sure. As MASSpartan put it, bewbies (sex appeal) is probably one reason in many cases. Margaery in GoT, but also something like a 21 year old Jennifer Lawrence playing the lead girl in Hunger Games, who I believe was only supposed to be 16. Also, particularly for a dramatic, badass role such as Robb Stark, much easier to convey the image of that character with a slightly older young man, versus a 15 year old kid.
