I kind of want one of these. Ammo is cheap(less cheap in the last month but cheaper than everything else).
If they don't get a gun bill pushed through this year, then prices should start coming down after that. Same thing happened in 2008-9, ammo and gun sales went crazy you could not find pistol ammo, and you couldn't find an AR style rifle for less than a grand. After a year or two the panic died down and prices and availability went back to normal.
Same cycle now...The current congress will not pass anything(20+ Dems up for re-election in what the news stations call "gun areas") as they don't have the numbers. Obama himself can only enact certain things and all of the "bans" that "people" want are all legislative in nature...Maybe in 2 years after the next election cycle but by then things will have calmed down and the economy will continue to be on people's minds a lot more than any sort of gun laws.

Just contemplating my complaint with Better Business Bureau.

A year or two.
coverage from the SHOT show was that backlog on ar platforms over a year.
so should I be buying any ammo I come across?
Obama was elected and crazy idiots everywhere acted irrationally.

I know, my first match will be in February. I need to learn how to load. And the initial investment of buying the loader. It is something that I want to get into. I am not good enough compared to the elite guys right now that loading my own is going to make a difference. This summer I am thinking about getting the stuff to reload. First step is keeping my brass when I shoot.

Is this a freak occurrence or does this actually happen quite often but isn't reported until the recent political discussions?
Just bought my first gun today. Picked up a 9MM Ruger P95 for $399.00 plus tax. Very happy with it, most likely the only gun I will ever own. Anyone got anything to add on the Ruger?
Nice pistol. A family member owns one and has been very happy with it. It should serve you well.
Diane Feinstein calls that an assault weapon.
I call it a good buy

Thanks guys. I have a lot of experience shooting a revolver but not too much with a pistol. I'm spending plenty of time reading the manual and getting comfortable handling it while it is unloaded. Been meaning to pick one up for a long time and was waiting for the right opportunity. Did some research online and the Ruger p95 seemed to be a popular, inexpensive and reliable starter pistol.
Get some snap caps for it and practice with those. Just be very careful not to mix up the snap caps and the real rounds!!!
Got my new KSG yesterday and played with it for the first time today. Been a long time since I've had this much fun with a new gun.

Solid purchase. I bet that is a lot of fun. I just purchased a Springfield XDS and man can that little guy pack a punch. It shoots wonderful though.
Just picked up a Sig Sauer 716 in tan for $1800 and a Sig Sauer P250 for $400 complete with our Brigade's logo etched on them. The advantages of being deployed are few, but great
Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword obviously never encountered automatic weapons.
Dang. That's a hell of a deal on the 716.
Just got the 9mm Sig P239. Wanted one small enuff for the wife to shoot too. Unfortunately no ammo in any store, so waiting on an internet order.
Just got back from Dunham's. Scored 250 rds of .40 S&W

I don't even want to admit how much I just spent on 250 rounds of 5.7x28.
But at least I can take my new Five Seven to the range now.
