That call may have been the worst. Made zero sense.
The moment is eternal
I agree. No matter what happens the rest of the season, I think MSU is going to be a tough out in the tourney.
They call 3 BS fouls on Appling, call what, 5 out-of-bounds plays off IU to IU, wave off 4 points of ours due to a BS travel and BS push off, and let Home Depot push Dawson about 30 times without a single call.
IU was +14 or so from the FT line, despite us being the team attacking the paint.
Take Home Depot out of this game and see what happens. Or make it an even game from the FT line, see what happens.
Fuck these refs, especially the one on top near Izzo.
Knock it off with that semantic bs. While the refs that work BIG also do other teams and conferences in the Midwest it's still the same damn groups regardless of label or not. Valentine, Hightower, eades, burr
Geriatric pieces of shit.

"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
At least they got that block call right when Watford was out of control and Harris was playing d. I've been saying for years you should have to actually play d to earn a charge, not slide over and fall down
Flop. You try not getting knocked over when a 6 11 250 lb man comes flying at you. That was the one call all game that was legit .
We battled hard...just couldn't overcome losing Appling to fouls or the refs giving IU the home cooking. We'll beat them in the Bres. This title is definitely up for grabs.
"I love March!" - Tom Izzo
Hate being right. Refs took over and we couldn't close the gap.
I wish Tom would just take one for his players and the school and just rip the shit out of the B1G for this bs home cooking ref crap.
I agree. It was a charge.
I just got in and watched the last two minutes of the game. Based on some of the posts, Nix got rooked, but that charge call was legit.
"Look at this. An entire generation of Cinderellas, and there's no glass slipper coming." -- Mother in ALMOST FAMOUS
We win by 5+ if calls are made correctly.
The only foul that Appling really had was the last one. Refs put the other 4 on him.
Jay Bilas @JayBilas
Charge by rule? Perhaps. Rule needs to change. Not set by offensive player's commitment to leave the floor? Block. Or, strip or block shot.
Contact on the way down should never be a charge
This is what I'm saying. Not only that but the first half seemed to be called legitimately and evenly. Then in the second half there were runs on fouls. 6-1 IU run, 5-0 MSU run, 5-0 IU run. 11-6 IU total adv. You can't tell me that's legit.
I said in the other thread. This game and this crowd got too big for these guys.
Yeah, I didn't have a problem with that. Could see Zeller setting up. Plenty of other calls that were garbage--that was close enough I'll get it to them.
Bilas is awesome
@Graham_Couch: If Hoosiers need these calls and no Appling to win against MSU at home, they won't win the Big Ten.
Don't blame him at all. He never had a chance. The refs ticky tacked him right out of it like it was part of their grand design for the game.
20 free throws for IU... and only 6 for MSU... that's just life on the road in B1G10 play.
I really like how hard this team competes, but the defensive lapses that allow drives to the basket were as damning as any ref calls. You have to play over those. This felt like a tourney game, just as the announcers pointed out.
My seats at SS. My driveway in winter.
We are going to dominate them at home
Yep, I was bitching about EVERY bad call but that was the right call.
Someone on twitter said Indianas last foul came at 7:27 left in the game.
