Yes, we do have another game before OSU comes to town
It would be really nice to see MSU dominate a team they should dominate. Thoughts?
1:30 tip today?
There have been several game threads started early in the day, and I wanted to talk some basketball
Hell, there's already 2 or 3 threads regarding MSU vs OSU. I'm hoping for a blowout so there's no chance the team is looking ahead. After all, people do read these boards...
What time is tip 6? Shit this might be the first game I don't watch since some fluff non con game two years ago.
They better not be looking past Penn State. That hasn't worked well for MSU in the past.
"The one thing we've been talking about as a team in our meetings is that we haven't had everybody play well in one game," Payne said. "Once we get that going, we're going to be a much better team, and the light will go on."
Izzo hopes that happens soon. After facing Penn State, the Spartans play four of their next five against ranked opponents and open that stretch Saturday at home versus No. 11 Ohio State.
They also visit Wisconsin (Jan. 22) and No. 2 Indiana (Jan. 27) before hosting No. 23 Illinois (Jan. 31) and No. 9 Minnesota (Feb. 6).
"I worry that maybe we're looking at (the records of the opposition)," Izzo said. "I guess we've got one more game and then we've got (four of the next five) against ranked teams or whatever. So, maybe we'll play better then, but we've got to play better Wednesday to win on the road."

The will to succeed is important, but what's more important is the will to prepare.
My mistake I forgot that people read this site. Carry on...
They're a team that almost always goes off from three against us, especially at their place. I could see it being similar to the Iowa game early, where they come out really fired up and we have to sustain a barrage of them making everything. But luckily they're not nearly as talented as Iowa and we should be able to win the game on pure athleticism alone, although it would be nice if the guards had a better shooting effort than in the Nebraska game.
Teams know that the best way to attack our defense is to paste us with threes. Izzo's system sacrifices the perimeter to battle for dominating in the paint. Our defensive system prefers not to extend to the three point line. This is why players who need shoot threes shoot well against us, they have open threes.
If they come out playing down to the competition, I might not be able to watch the whole game. It's been very difficult at times this year to watch them.

If Wisconsin doesn't lay an egg on the road against Iowa this weekend then they will almost certainly be ranked when they play MSU next week. Of course with another loss Illinois will be out of the top 25, so it still may only be 4 out of 5...
We win by 8. Purdue fans start comparing the Sandusky ordeal with their Dawson complex.
Your a retard.
I don't think our guards can shoot any worse than Sunday, but I don't think our bigs shoot as well either.
I'm going to start tOfficial tOfficial Michigan State vs Penn State Game Thread later today, and steal all of your glory.

Yeah, I am wondering what the "controversy" will be tonight.
Tipoff is at 7
Anyone follow them at all? I'd be curious to know if they are using a wisconsin grind it out style or if we might actually see a score past the 70 mark tonight. If they slow it down, I can see it staying close for a while but hopefully not like the Iowa game. A couple people were really high on how Iowa, I know PSU is thought of in the same class this year but I really don't think so.
What the hell?

The Doctor is in:
Contrary to popular belief around here, teams have not been shooting lights out from deep against us. For the season, opponents are averaging 4.9 threes per game, shooting them at a 30.1 percent clip. If you go by team 3 pt shooting percentage, that 30.1 is WAY outside the top 50 http://www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-men/d1/current/team/152
#50 on that list, Houston, is making 37.7 percent of their threes. 50th best in the country. Our opponents shoot considerably worse than that against our defense.

You won't get much, it's a minor miracle I've still got 5 stars
Well, there is the controversy.
turned physical and one player was shoved into a wall. Investigation continues. No arrests at this point. #PennState #MichiganState
Also, line is 10.5. Msu was barely favored against Iowa. I smell a 20+ point win.
Please be walk-ons please be walk-ons please be walk-ons
Yep. Curse of Jabari.
This is what happens when someone starts a game thread too early
Say goodbye to that fifth one. By starting this thread so gosh darn early, you allowed for controversy to erupt.
Darn you. Darn you to heck.
