Lane Kiffin for MSU OC 2014!
Go Bears, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Pioneers.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand
Morris Watts is still alive, right?
I'm 128 - 2 on NCAA football. Get at me Dantonio
Salem might be a good idea. He's a younger guy and more of a dynamic personality.
What is your PPG?
I got one, I got one!! Jim Tressel!
An Xbox or PS3 running any NCAA game in coaching mode would outperform Roushar. Now the no computer thing in the coaches box could be an issue....
35,600 posts and counting since 09-09-2002. tRCMB Dead Pool Commissioner.
It'll be boring, aka internal. More interested in who we bring in to backfill Salem.
Dude really knew how to use the Pistol and the Shotgun in Atlanta
Going to be Salem.
I think Dantonio's probably already shaking the Tressel and $aban coaching trees to see if anybody is ready to fall into a Big 10 position coach slot.
That'd be awesome if it could happen.
Serious question here: if they were good enough to be OC, couldn't they have helped Dan out more this year?
I agree with this, and this is the reason i want them to go outside, not promote from within.
Disagree promoting from within is bad idea. Playbook remains. Same terminology. Build loyalty among new hires who see promotion and continuity...and I want to be right from 3 months ago when I predicted Salem.

who knows what they may or may have not helped with.
But, with the way this looks, I have to imagine the new OC hire will be from outside the program.
I don't think Jim Tressel can, weren't there major restrictions with him?
If so that would be amazing.
Michigan State University is the university of Michigan
I'm not familiar w exactly how the oc job is run. But I imagine once coach d names a person, it is theirs for the season. Plays are mainly drawn up and installed during camps spring and summer. Play calling is solely the oc unless the hc takes over. There is no way coach d was going to tell Warner to call plays for a quarter. He has other things to do during a game.
My biggest disappointments in roushar were the lack of improvement we showed over the bye week and the month between the win at minn and our bowl game. There was no offensive development, no growth despite numerous practices and a knowledge that the current plan wasn't getting the job done.
Nobody has said Izzo, wtf. I'm disappointed in all of you. He's clearly the favorite.
I want Jim Tessell, that's a name that sends shock waves through college football. I wonder how the Bucks would feel about that.
I really want an out of the box hire here. We need to make a splash, we have lost a little MO with Urban and Hoke along with an average season. A guy like Jim Tressel or Steve Mariucci (sp?) would get networks talk about us and help big in recruiting. Even if we had them for only a year or two. If Tressel wanted back in coaching this would be the gig for him I would imagine (familiar staff, close recruiting ties, big potential)
I don't know how successful they have been, but what about the OC from CMU or Miami? And is it typical for a coordinator to take the position at a larger school like that or do they typically become a position coach & move their way up to coordinator again?
