Exactly. The Nashville game-plan was to concede shots on goal and worry about the quality of those shots. The series was played at their pace, in the style they dictated, and with the physicality they determined. And even when Nashville does that, they're not a team that's going to put up dominating offensive performances. Babcock tried to adjust, but he didn't have the personnel to match-up with a younger and better Nashville. Better team won, no doubt.......

Believe what you want about the fans here. Unless you have been in the building, save your bitching. I don't like and don't participate in the "you suck" chants, but the individual mocking and threats that opposing fans get at stadiums in Detroit, Chicago, and St Louis don't happen here. Opposing fans are treated with respect and welcomed to the city and the building (unless they are complete d-bags).
The fans here have great respect for the Detroit franchise and the Red Wings have always been what the Predators hope to be one day. Winning one series doesn't change history, but there was 13 years of pent up frustration of beatings at the Wings hands let out in the building last night.
Winning this series was of major importance to the survival of a competitive franchise in Nashville. The Wings lost and people up there are pissed, but the Wings aren't going anywhere.
It was a competitive series. Nashville played their best game last night and considering Hal Gill didn't see the ice in the series, I am shocked it only went 5 games.
Nashville still faces the signings of Weber and Suter this summer. I don't see any way they sign both, I just hope neither ends up in Detroit.
I love when people act like the fans of their own city/team/state are "better" or "classier/more respectful" than the fans of other places. It's hilarious that you actually believe what you just wrote. Newsflash, fans are the same everywhere.
I am not saying we are classier than anyone else. Just defending against the critics.
I hate the you suck chants.
You just said that opposing fans get "threats" in Detroit, whereas opposing fans get welcomed to Nashville and are treated with respect.

So, you're not saying your fans are classier than anyone else, but they are classier than anyone else?
Having been to all 3 of those cities and watching it happen not infrequently, I did say that it does not happen here.
I think the you suck chants are far from classy, but harmless.
If you find that inaccurate or offensive nothing I can do about it.
I've seen hockey in Nashville. They are ok with opposing fans (once went with a red wings jersey, once a thrashers shirt). They were not nice when I wore the wings jersey. They were great with the atlanta jersey. They have pent up frustration against the wings

Which one are you??
Lidstrom. Lidstrom. No "n."
As a 3rd generation Swede, I must correct this or die.
Thank you, Denicos.
Except South Chicago. Cellular Field should be burned to the ground.
I hope this was on purpose.
If not, every single one of your hockey posts are invalid.
I have actually heard the same about the way Wings fane are treated in Nashville. A guy I play hockey with does a lot of work in Nashville and they always go to the games. He says the fans there are pretty respectful and always very nice.
I am officially rooting for Nashville the rest of the way now. I think if they play defensively the way they did against us and they get their offense going they have a good chance. I don't like any of the other teams left and with the exception of the Weber head slam they are a pretty clean playing team.
Thanks for backing me up on that.
The Weber hit was an incredible lapse in judgment and I hope we never see anything that stupid out of him again. Short of Tootoo I think they play as clean a game as anyone. McGratton is a goon, but he settles things with his fists.

Probably shouldn't post, but ahhhhh, why not: a "eulogy" for the Nashville Predators' season. Congratulates them for winning the Red Wings Cup for the first time. Some solild Photoshop work.
From the blog Puck Daddy: (Ed. Note: As the Stanley Cup Playoffs continue, we're bound to lose some friends along the journey. We've asked for these losers, gone but not forgotten, to be eulogized by the people who knew the teams best: The fans who … Continue reading →

Also attached a live version of the song, just because it's good.
I had to reupload this version because it has so much energy in it that everybody needs to see this.
