Anyone else think 'Cespedes' sounds like a disease?
If we can trick Coach Krzyzewski into saying his own name backwards, perhaps he will be pushed back to the fifth dimension
The moment is eternal
Small ball isn't played in the AL. It doesn't work.
I think the romanticism goes back to Little League, when you're told not to try and hit home runs. Major league players have to try to hit home runs and doubles. It's not an accident. It's fundamental to having a good team. Power is important.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
I'm glad they don't bunt. Bunting is an antiquated relic of 19th century baseball that should go away. The most precious resource you have in baseball is the out; why hand one to the other team?
I have heard his name pronounced like 10 different ways
Sounds like type of centipede.
I'm not a "small ball" guy, but there are definitely times that call for a sac bunt.
A human centipede?
...I'll show myself out.
Well at least were are getting good contact
Late in games in situations where you need to tie, take the lead, or add on a single run.
That's about it.
Especially when you have burners in Jackson and Berry at the top of your lineup.
I'd have them bunt every single time and feel no shame if there were no outs.
You play to win the game.
Right. I'd add that the batter is marginal as well.
Jackson is a poor bunter.
He's a gap hitter disguised as a leadoff hitter.
Catch the other team off guard and bunt for a base hit, maybe? Not a lot of guys can do that with a good success rate, though.
It would be awesome to have the confidence the tigers would be able to score even one run
AJax is too good of a hitter to bunt much.
I know it gets said every night, but the pitch locator is useless. Why even bother if it isn't right?
Remind yourself. Nobody built like you, you design yourself.
Once in a great while, but the Tigers don't really have anyone who can catch people off guard.
Berry draws the runner in at 3rd on every appearance, partially because they know he's unlikely to hit the ball past them.
You answered your own question. Nice work.
For people who never watch baseball
Most fans seem to believe the pitch locator over the ump.
The corners are just so far off
Give people something to bitch about.
Darn, it sure would have been nice if Peralta could have knocked in Dirks from second.
And, it also would have been nice if Delmon Young would have taken at least three pitches.
