Instead of all that travel (which is actually a good test for the team's younger players) and being 5-1, we'll stay home, play cupcakes, and be 6-0.
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
You're an idiot. The only thing teams gain from these early non conference games is experience for the young players and to see how they will react in close games. Izzo makes his schedule to place the players in different situations and to see how they react, this is why his record in March is so good. he doesn't want a bunch of blowouts because you aren't going to be blowing out teams when it really matters, in March.

There's money and national exposure, which ultimately equals more money from it. It's not going to change, and face it both coaches and players agree that the travel and tough schedule produces results in March. That is all that matters.
Lmao, wow, you are much more stupid than I thought.
I'll break this down nice and easy for you, since you obviously have cognitive issues you are dealing with. I was responding to the other idiot's assertion that his buddies are better ballhandlers than Dawson based upon an observation where a 6'6 wing is dribbling downcourt while being chased by D1 athletes and playing in front of thousands of fans.
An even simpler explanation (given your mental handicap): his friends are not as good at dribbling the basketball as Branden Dawson is, and to suggest so based on one example in a pressure-filled game is asinine.
Let me know if you need an even more simple breakdown there chief.
It has something to do with it sure. But for those of you that don't recall...Trice was no sticky fingers with the ball last year. .. he had a fair number of turnovers too and Harris is still a freshman.. Regardless. 20 turnovers is ridiculous no matter who you are playing. Lafayette is a 3rd tier team playing its 5th game in 10 days.. and the Spartans turned the ball over TWENTY times... no excuse for that number against that level of opponent coming off a grueling road trip for them....all when you've been able to play at home the last week and a half.
I actually think this type of game will help for motivation against Miami.
You miss the point entirely. Its about scheduling games so tight and all in a row that is the problem. Team gets little chance to look at a game, reflect, find problems, work on them.. then try again another game. its the 4 games in 8 days that is the problem.. not scheduling the Germany game... not even scheduling Kansas..although to do it so close to he overseas game was a little insane (turned out ok I guess).. and for the record.. The last four games at home have not been against cupcakes??? ohhhh I get it..those teams were all from the big four conferences in the country and just changed uniforms and affiliations for the fun of it.
It's a W. As far as RPI matters, doesnt matter how close the game was, it's final result.
Do us a favor and stick to football.
Its five o'clock somewhere.
Yep. The team actually gained some maturity today by surviving this grind. I think Izzo new what he was doing when he set up this grind. Come Big Ten season, and they have a Thursday night game followed by a weekend game, they will be more prepared.
I will never understand why these games get people so annoyed. This is basketball, not football. MSU won a grinding game with little prep against a team that had them circled on the calendar all summer. Meanwhile we had several players have off games. They found a way to win. The dogs bark but the caravan moves on.
The schedule doesn't have anything to do with Trice, Harris, Costello and Kaminsky getting hurt.
Dawson not being able to play all summer, or Byrd, Kearney, Gauna, or Valentine never playing major minutes before this year.
Geeze there were only about a zillion posts this fall predicting the team would have a bumpy start and not to freak out about it.

If we have trice and Harris back It puts denzel back at wing were he is best suited right now, he is a good passer but not a great ball handler right now ,Instead of at the point were he had at least 7 turnovers today. Denzel can't be our backup point at this point in his career.
and also not have the experience of playing in the same venue that the Final 4 will be held in. No sense in giving ourselves an advantage come March Madness.
We are the SPARTANS and They are NOT!!! [spartan 2]
Here is one more minor detail- Brandon Dawson most likely would not have been able to perfect the behind the back dribble even if we had not played any games in those 8 days. I doubt he would have learned the proper technique to shoot a jump shot in those 8 days. BUT It is entirely possible that Costello and Valentine could have become a bit more comfortable in a couple of the sets leading to a couple more baskets.
Don't ruin the black cloud posters day around here....they seek out every bit of negative stuff to whine about...Ft. Wayne whatever probably wanted Izzo fired during his first year....oh, wait, probably wasn't even born yet...or, in his case, rejected too late by his mother's uterus. I am soooo sick of the negative nancies surround MSU sports....maybe they are mainly trolls! Sure sounds like they are.
Game threads are the worst. What a bunch of nancies.
