The 2012 version of this thread was one of the motivations for my significant weight loss in 2012.
I started the year around 312 (honestly stopped weighing after a while). In June I got serious and finally made my mind up that I wanted to do something about my weight. I've lost around 87lbs in the past few months I'm now currently weighing around 225 with an ultimate goal of around 195 or so.
Hopefully we can continue this thread as a spot to share tips and offer support and motivation for those looking to get healthier!
Damn, 87 pounds? That's amazing! Congrats on that.

currently at 214, was at 236 at the end of October. Goal is to be around 180 by May 26th. Was at 180 when I was in my accident in 2011, put on ton of weight trying to shed it all again.
The first time MSU basketball aired in France the French surrendered to Tom Izzo just to be safe.
Weighed in at 273.4 this morning. Don't have a specific weight in mind. More of a waist size so I can wear those fancy ass jeans I read about in the dad jean thread.
Don't know if they make Lucky Brand or the right kind of LL Bean in my current size.
I will say goodbye to Little Debbie one day at a time.
If you want the google page spreadsheet that we used let me know.
Held it down for Monty
Held it down For Iz
Weighed in at 197 Sunday and started Insanity. Goal is to get to about 175 or so.
I had a net loss of 10 lbs for 2012...though it was as much as 18 before Thanksgiving...wah-wah.
Weighing in tonight at 156.5 lbs with an estimated lean body mass of 104.8 lbs (or 33% body fat...ick). I'll probably weigh in both in the mornings and at night to see how things fluctuate.
Assuming my LBM doesn't change, my goal weight is 125.8 lbs, which would put my body fat at 20% I've got the exercise thing down pretty well as I'm working out on average 4x/week doing bikram/hot yoga. As far as diet is concerned, I plan on sticking to a grain-free/Primal/Paleo diet at least 80% of the time.
I am a female from 'Nam and 5'1" for perspective. Good luck to everyone and Go Green

I started in March of 2012 @ 325 lbs. Currently 274.6 lbs. I lost 50 lbs last year, and I'm looking to loose another 50 this year. I'm sick of being a Fat Fuck. I lost 6" in my waist, I'm off my pills for Type II Diabetes, and I have way more energy.
lost 15 lbs down to 205. really want to get down to 190 by march or april and 180 by mid summer.
East Lansing- A Drinking Town with a Football Problem
I was at about 195 and since the summer i have been down close to 170. I want to get to about 165 but it's getting to the point where my body really doesn't want to lose those last pounds. For the last few months I have pretty much just hovered at 172/173.

Not really that concerned with the actual weight, but I would like to shed some body fat. My goal is to start doing Insanity again so I don't have to fight through the New Year's resolutioners (or be one myself), but I don't really want to. I'm lazy.
Was wondering if one of these would pop up. Weighed in at 229 on New Years Day. Hoping to get down to 210 by April 1, and 200 by June 1. I'm about 6'2", and definitely have some weight to lose. Haven't weighed less than 215 since middle school.
Was up to 250 last year. Got down to 227 last February after a month on nutrisystem. Was happy with the results, and kept off most of the weight, but I'd like to take the next step in weight loss.
The Doctor is in:
I was hoping one of these would pop up as well. I am about 195 right now and would like to get down to 170 or so. I want to get back into lifting as well as cardio. I guess I am more concerned about losing body fat than my actual weight.
I'm in. Hovering between 215-220 right now, and I'd like to be in the 185 area. Gonna cut out the soda and double down on the exercise.
I'm at about 182 and don't have a specific weight goal but my mid-section needs some work. I feel like 170 would be a good weight. Let's go with that.
Went from 188 to 165 last summer/fall, got a sports hernia which I'm still recovering from, now back to 175. I want to shoot for 160 and will once I'm given the Ok from my doctor.

Is there a spreadsheet being kept for this year? I got in a relationship a few years ago and have really packed on the pounds. I was around 170 in October 2010 and weighed in at 232 pounds yesterday. Would love to get back into shape.
got down to 198 from 215 last year (195 before the holidays). So I'll set my goal at 185.
Checking in at 282 lbs on 01/02/2013.
I lost 30 pounds in 2012, but gained a little bit back after my big car accident (since I couldn't work out). I've been to the gym a few times, and can now handle a workout without being in too much pain.
Right now I am at 133, and would like to be at 120.
Getting a Gym memebership next week. I will be be hitting the stationary bike pretty hard. I am around 200 right now. It would be nice to get to 185ish, but mostly losing body fat. My love for Pizza and beer won't help thoguh.
That happened to my wife. She got injured in a car wreck and I gained 40 lbs.
i'm fat and motivated. let's do this!
(244.4 wanting to get into the 180s)
I feel ya man. I spent the last half of 2010 getting in shape, lost 46lbs (226 down to 180) doing P90X and eating healthy (didn't follow the diet guide they send). In july 2011 I was in a really bad car accident and wasn't able to walk until december and even then I wasn't able to do much. Wasn't able to start even long walks until july of 2012 without my knee swelling to the size of small watermelon. I was around 180 when the accident happened, something the docs credit as one reason I probably survived to begin with, and in october i weighed in at 236.6 lbs. I'm only about 6 feet tall so I was looking a lot like the koolaid man.
Started dieting pretty strictly, I've lost 24 lbs already, with minimal if any exercise.
Okay. I'm in.
204 today. Ideally 188-190.
I'm 48, 6', and still play basketball weekly. Nothing worse than an overweight point guard.
Hope to hit target by early/mid Feb. More exercise and little to no carbohydrates really does the trick for me.
Good luck to everyone who's giving this a shot.
It was just a mistake;
I didn't mean to let them take away my soul.
Am I too old?
Is it too late?
Weighing in at a portly 290. Gained weight after recovering from surgery and finally quitting smoking.
I want to get to 222, which is still slightly overweight, but a weight that I held for a number of years and I felt comfortable weighing.
I'm tired of the "big boy pants," as I call them.
Going to watch what I eat and add some exercise to my life.
Who else is in?
