We'll see. He certainly left Florida in a less than "dominant" manner. Great first season though, took advantage of a stocked cupboard like a great coach should.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
Pshhhh. I'd rather have Dan Roushar than Jim Harbaugh.
The Sunshine Crew
He's won big everyplace he's been.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Honestly, I don't think he would have done any better than Hoke *cough*Mattison*cough* has done in these 2 years and the only way scUM could recruit any better than they are now would be with Saban or Urbz at the helm.
Gravy Hoke +1
Saban is a great coach AND has access to a program that makes domination possible. Put Harbaugh at a school with those same built-in advantages -- Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, LSU, etc. -- and I think he'd be in the same realm.
Remember, even Saban has needed some fortunate breaks to win the last two titles ... Oklahoma State losing to Iowa State last year, LSU blowing a lead in the last two minutes this year, Oregon and Kansas State opening the door for Alabama to get back in, a tipped interception in the last 20 seconds of the SEC championship game ...
but seriously, we didn't dodge any bullet. harbaugh wasn't close to becoming coach of Michigan football.
and thank god, because yeah...sorry guys...he would destroy us.

I don't understand how ANYONE dodged a bullet on this, since Pizza Boy was only armed with a squirt gun when he went hunting for his new coach.
That's fine. But it's pure speculation that he would win nearly half a dozen titles like saban has. UM hasn't had that type of sustained success since the forward pass was considered "ungentlemanly". Again, I think Harbaugh is a terrific coach, but the fictitious accolades and hypothetical achievements being lumped on him are a bit much.
Nίκη για MSU
Absolutely. However no team in the BIG has access to talent and the coach to mold it like Alabama does. I don't think any one team is going to dominate the conference.
i'm sorry that i find a coach who built multiple college football programs and immediately turned a dogshit NFL team into a Superbowl contender in each of his first two seasons as a pro coach to be incredibly impressive.
OSU probably will.
Best coach in the conference.
Best pedigree/access to talent.
Took a 6-6 team and went 12-0 with nothing to play for.
If anybody is going to dominate the conference as it currently sits, it'll be OSU.
I don't look at it specifically as "Harbaugh would have turned U-M into Alabama." It's more "Jim Harbaugh has proven to be an extremely good coach on the pro and collegiate level, and if you put him at one of the handful of programs with incredible built-in advantages, he's going to win a lot." I'll feel the same way if/when Chip Kelly comes back to college football, and it's what I thought when Urban Meyer came to Ohio State.
It doesn't mean that those programs would become unbeatable and that their conference opponents would be screwed. Everyone is beatable, and even the most dominant teams in America still need help from things that are out of their control. But would I rather face a team coached by Brady Hoke than a team coached by Jim Harbaugh (everything else being equal?) Yes. Yes I would.
The 6-6 record is deceiving given that it was amateur hour at OSU immediately post-Tressell. He still had the most talented roster in the BIG, and he also has the benefit of not being Luke f'n Finkle.
I don't think Harbaugh ever seriously considered the Michigan job. Honestly, I don't think he wants anything to do with Michigan.
With all that being said, your post is stupid and borderline delusional. I don't think Harbaugh would have much trouble beating MD. This isn't a slight on MD or a pro-Michigan post either. This has everything to do with Harbaugh being a great coach.
A lot of truth to this.
"Look at this. An entire generation of Cinderellas, and there's no glass slipper coming." -- Mother in ALMOST FAMOUS
Already ordaining him above the revered choke artist Bo?
2011 OSU lost a lot of close games too. In hindsight they were a lot like 2012 MSU, except their defense wasn't nearly as good and their offense actually scored on crappy teams.
Braxton Miller coming alive was the biggest reason for their success this year, let's hope our offense can pull a similar miracle.
