Cooking carp

Went out fishing last night and caught a monster carp (29 inches, 14 pounds) and decided to keep it and see how it tastes (sans mudvien). Anyone have any recipes or cooking tips, besides the cooking it on a plank until done?

Place cardboard in oven
Put carp on cardboard
Oven at 350
3 hours
take out cardboard
Throw out carp
eat cardboard

People smoke Suckers not Carp. Use Carp as Fertilizer in your vegetable or flower garden. I have never heard of people eating carp except certain ethnic groups, that would trade me Walleye for monster carp.

we had a carp spawning area in a swampy area and black folk from Chicago would come over to catch them. My dad said that they smoked them and it was pretty good....so smoke the hell out of them, and then acquire a taste I guess.

I've eaten a ton of Asian carp in my visits to China and other places in SE Asia. Can't say I ever found any of it to be too objectionable. That said - I wouldn't have a clue how to prepare it myself.
