I had a chopotle porter at the MI Summer Beer Fest last year and it was really good. Not a fan of pepper beers at all, but that one was really well done. Think it was Right Brain.

I had the Mayan Stout from Odd Sides at Clarkston Union a few weeks ago. It was too much pepper for my likings.

Picked up a 6er at Horrocks today. Amazing IPA if you like the tangy grapefruity hop taste. Love it.
Also heard that GI BCBS will be year round due to upgrades in the bourbon barrel program. Good news.

I guess Shorts changed the name of Hangin Frank to ControversiALE. Bummer. Hangin Frank was a great name and label.

That was discussed in the article a couple of posts up that ICE attached about GI. So, sounds like it is the plan.

I hope it does not go the way of dfh 120 and wws and cost $10/bottle. I do appreciate seeing those 2 on the shelves again though and not just behind the counter.

I've never had anything from them, but I keep seeing their stuff at Spec's, so I figured what the hell.

I have only been gone for 2 years but I don't remember. How limited is Founders Old Curmudgeon ? Trying to bribe people to send me some. I know it comes out soon if not already.

Founders Black Party is tomorrow. Hopefully its not a shit show like the KBS release. I plan on headin over mid afternoon.

No go to Black Party this year. Doing a tasting of all the Upright Sole Comps tomorrow otherwise I would head over there. Will most likely be at Founders Fest if you are going to that. Moving back to Grand Rapids in about a month so I should be hanging out there more often.

I agree, I've tried several of their beers and nothing has stood out for me at all. Heading back to Michigan this weekend, any local releases that I should know about?
