Current Direct TV customers: NFL Sunday Ticket

  • I have had Direct TV for almost 5 years now. A friend of a friend claimed he called in and got NFL Sunday Ticket for free so I gave it shot last night. Told the phone agent I wanted to cancel because they are offering free NFL Sunday ticket to new subscribers but loyal people like me have to pay $360 for it. The guy said they have deals for people like me and offered the package to me for half price. I said no and it was a matter of principle and I only watch the local team anyway. After a few minutes, he said "you got it". No charge for a season of NFL Sunday Ticket. I do know another guy that has tried and has got turned down but I am not sure how he handled himself on the call. It is worth a shot if you have time.

I have had conflicting results doing this. Just depends on who you get on the other end.

  • Screw em then. Call their bluff and switch. Really I don't understand why more people don't. I'm getting a pretty decent deal with Comcast for cable and Internet with HBO included.

I tried that once...and then I found out Comcast was not availible. It's either Dish, DTV, or Broadstripe where I live.

  • Well then switch to Dish for a few months until they beg you to come back. Doesn't Dish have free install anyway?

Don't like Dish...and NFL Sunday Ticket really isn't that important to me to worry about it if they say no.

This. It took me 4 tries before I got someone to give it to me for free. I also got 'Sunday ticket to go' for free. Just keep calling and be sure to talk to someone in the retention department. They are the ones who can hook you up.
