Dad Jeans

  • Like I said on one of the other pages, the LL Bean Signature line is very nice, the are defiantly going toward a different demographic than the regular LL Bean pants.

Do people wear bunched up pant legs on purpose? That would drive me nuts. Probably more of comment on the shoes than the jeans.

No, well at least I don't. That model is just a moron.

Disagree with article's "dark rinse" preference. No matter the brand, they always look fresh off the pile at Walmart. Wouldn't be caught dead wearing them.

Double L classic fit are not high-waist...they're perfect.

But, never mind my opinion. Check out the 1744 reviews with almost a full 5 star rating.

those are the definition of dad jeans...and despite the 5 star rating, i can tell you that the reviews confirm it. They are all old people talking about how they finally found a pair of jeans that doesn't chafe their nipples.

Your average UofM fan and I have something in common, neither of us went to UofM. Though we do share One major difference, I got Accepted.

Yes, I'm sure it was his decision on how to wear the pants.

Exact quote from one of the reviews. I'd almost call these things grandpa jeans...

" If you are an older guy over 50 who is not obese and has thin legs, these jeans will fit you nicely."

    5 stars, indeed!

They're showing that they aren't boot cut by showing that they wouldn't work with boots?

Slim cut is for people with twig legs. I can't wear them unless I buy a waist a couple of inches large--my quads don't fit slim cut if I buy my nominal waist size. Not that I really GAF, I'm in the Dad demographic, so I buy jeans at a farm supply store.

BTW, those skinny jeans make your butt look big unless your legs are unusually muscular or you're anorexic. Office drones need to leave those for the teenagers and buy pants that allow a positive sperm count.

Maybe it's just me but $79 seems like a lot of money to spend on LL Bean jeans. Also, I think it's a fair bet to say that my wife wouldn't let me out of the house with those on. They still seem pretty dad-jeany, even though they're better than the Pantry specials.

haha apparently you don't have the body for slim cut. There is a different between slim cut and skinny jeans.

  • My collection includes Levi, AE, RocaWear, CK and some non brand names that are decent looking. Two things that look very "Dad" like are any kind of lightly colored jean and tucking Buttton Ups or Polos into jeans. I am the type of guy that will typically go to a TJ Maxx, Marshalls or outlet store to get a name brand pair of jeans for cheaper.

Seriously, you LL Bean people don't think these are the definition of a "dad jean?"

I've seen the website pics. I'm not built like the models. I'm fat (all in the gut...and face, but that's a different thread) with a long torso. My Bean jeans don't fit anything like that. They ride a little lower, allowing more room for my saggy balls and crank...very comfortable without looking overly baggy.

Guess my idea of 'dad jeans' is a little different than Megan Collins. I agree with her points about "billow out around the waist" and "high-waisted". Both bad looks. There's a guy my age and similar build at work that wears what I consider 'dad jeans' on casual Friday. They look similar to the pic below but 10x worse...like denim parachute pants

I think a lot of shirts look ridiculous tucked into jeans.

If I feel the need to tuck a shirt in, it's a sign I shouldn't be wearing jeans.
