Damion Terry

  • I know this is overkill a bit, but I couldn't be more excited to have this guy coming here. Not only is he probably our highest quality commit for this class, he just takes being a Spartan to a whole other level.

On top of being a four-star DUAL threat quarterback he also:

-Got the ball rolling with another very talented teammate in Delton Williams.
    -Represents the university with class.
-Works his ass off to try and recruit other players to come to MSU.

Honestly, I think that Drake Harris and him have a pretty good friendship going and Terry being in his ear absolutely helps our chances. I know a lot of people on here are frustrated with Urban and Hoke and this past season, but with kids like this coming here our future is very bright.

A quarterback can change an outlook for a team completely (Cousins to Maxwell is a perfect example) Not only does Terry seem like a talented, hard-working kid, there is zero doubt in my mind that he takes pride in and wants to be a Spartan. The latter is what I think I love about him the most.

Can't wait to see him on the field.

Additonal attributes seem to include shutting down idiot walk on kickers in Harris' ear.

  • There cannot be too many threads about Terry IMO. I am more excited for this recruit than any other MSUrecruit since maybe TJ Duckett.

He's a pure stud, glad he got his 4th star, but that's still not enough. The kid can throw it 75 yards, is 6-4, 220 lbs and runs a 4.5. With the season he just put up stats wise, this kid shold have been one of the most heralded players in the whole country. The fact that he seems to love being a Spartan and is already taking on a leadership role is gravy.

It's standard that teammates don't talk to the kicker on the sidelines because they don't want to make him nervous... but with McGrath, they'll avoid talking to him because he's such a miserable twat-burger.

JJ McGrath is a pure turd.

Hey JJ if you're reading this: Nobody gives a shit about you at all, especially at UM. They had you walk on as insurance and you will likely never see the field.

No talent ass-clown that will be bagging groceries in five years because you're too big of an arrogant prick to get a real job.

He reminds me of Ryan Mallet without the big arm, talent, overall athleticsm etc

Since McGrath signed a LOI... Can he be considered to be committing an NCAA Violation?

It doesn't mean he can't do it better.

Terry's numbers were video game numbers - just because he doesn't run first or second (or third even) doesn't mean he isn't the better runner.

If given the chance, this guy could be our offense next year. He's got ridiculous strength and accuracy for a guy coming out of high school. Not to mention he's already showing Kirk Cousin-like leadership off the field and expressing his love for the school just as much as Draymond Green.

It usually takes until their senior or junior year for a guy to be so open and be heard this much. He has natural leadership and isn't afraid to step up.

    I agree, he's a great prospect.

It just annoys me when people think he's going to be Cam Newton.

O'Connor and Cook ran just as well as Terry in HS and are similar athletes. I honestly think the only reason Terry has been classified as a DT and the other two were pro style is because he's not white.

I could be wrong here, but I dont think walkons sign LOIs. Soe really, he is just a high school kid until he enrolls in the fall.

    NO, his coach says that.

""He's just a phenomenal talent at quarterback, a big, huge kid. Seeing him playing against high school kids — he's a high school kid, but he doesn't turn 18 until the end of the year — he's 6-foot-4, 220 pounds with a cannon arm.''

Cannon, as in throwing a youth football 90 yards, according to his coach, adding that "he can sling our big ball 75 yards, and he's a great escape guy, good wheels, good vision, in the back of his head, too. He has a sense of what he's doing.''"

Class of 2013 spotlight: Quarterback Damion Terry, ready to roll for Michigan State football

It would seem Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio knew what he was doing, too, making Terry a priority recruit and looking to add a package to the Spartans' offense if Terry shows out as expected in fall drills.
