Why didn't we hear it last year? I mean, he was a terrible coordinator even then and only getting bailed out by the players, right?

I'm not saying it'll be one way or another, but if he's still here next season and we're better on offense it will be attributed to the development of Maxwell and the receivers. After that, it will be having a dual threat QB in Terry for 3-4 years. Roushar will never get credit for being the reason the offense succeeds, not saying he would or would not deserve it.

So when the players don't execute it's because Roushar didn't develop them. When they do execute, it's in spite of Roushar. That's a bunch of horseshit. If you're going to blame him for all our ills when we suck, then you need to give him some credit when we're good.

People on this board are so reactionary. He's had one good season, one bad one, and deserves a third to see what he can do. If half this board had their way Treadwell would've been fired as well as Narduzzi. Of course none of them will admit that now.

are you kidding? people have been bitching about Roushar prior to this season. This season it is simply hitting a crescendo. Why defend the coordinator of the 110th scoring offense who may be the worst Recruiting coach in the teams history? He makes the team worse by being a part of it, and parting ways with him and hiring a field mouse would be a vast improvement (we may finally get some recruits). Having a coach that players don't like and don't like to play for makes no sense.

Have you seen his play calling compared to last year? Complete lack of screens, shot gun sets, no pull blocking like we did with Foreman, etc. We lose our best players on offense so we run an offense that isn't meant for these new players at all. Makes no sense. We suck. 110th in offense, Fire Roushar

And how would you know players don't like him or don't like to play for him?

Look, I don't want to turn this into another 10 page thread. I don't think Roushar is exactly Chip Kelly, but I think he deserves another year. Last year we had no running game and Roushar did a good job of adjusting and tailoring our offense to our strength which was passing the ball, and as a result we had a top 3 offense in the Big Ten. I know everyone will just give all the credit to Cousins and the WRs, and obviously they were a huge part of that, but the arguments here aren't consistent. He gets zero credit for succeeding and all the blame for losing.

This season has been a fucked up anamoly where literally nothing has went our way. The blame should go around. He deserves a third year as do most coaches to prove their worth.

thumbsup O-line's poor play nearly all season, mainly, and the rash of dropping eminetly catchable passes have, in the big picture, made the offense very predictable and basic. Roushar ain't the problem. So, it's a bit harsh to even say he's had a bad season this year. He's done what he could do not to further expose the offense's issues and hoped that the defense could bail him out---which is something else that hasn't happened, i.e., the defense, although stellar, has, unfortunately, broken down at game winning time when we needed a stop.

    That's the truth.

What does it tell you that we host big-time QB recruits and our OC isn't even part of the process?

That is a major problem. In 7 years you can count on one hand (with amputated fingers) the number of recruits we have landed that had roushar as their primary recruiter. Offensive recruits never talk about how much they liked meeting roushar, and our offensive players never speak positively of our system.

It tells me that certain people read way too much into what a 17-year-old kid is quoted as saying-- by a group of reporters who have been shown repeatedly as being less than accurate in their reporting.

offensive kids never talk about enjoying talking with roushar, while reporters aren't always accurate, you would think he might get mentioned by accident occasionally.

  • Listen up FOLKS - including the OP:

Roushar cost MSU two games last year due to his stupidity. I've been bitching about him since the ND game last year. He's an IDIOT!
If Dantonio keeps him, then Dantonio does NOT HAVE THE BEST INTERESTS OF MSU FOOTBALL IN MIND!

Don't think the players haven't said things about his play calling, because THEY HAVE. They just keep that to themselves or friends and it doesn't get into the news.
Who do you think Bell's comment about 'more diversity' in the offense was aimed at???

Someone mentioned the 4 star Qb that visited and people thought he was going to commit. What happened with that? WOTS is that he was NOT impressed with our play calling and OC.

Scapegoat the players all you want but ultimately it's COACHING, COACHING, COACHING. It starts there and ends there.

If he is still here next year, no matter what the record, Dantonio will not have my support nor the support of a lot of people who have season tickets and donate to the University.
