Replacement-level player is replaceable. I wonder if there's a clause in his contract where the Tigers are off the hook for his remaining salary if he's in trouble with the law. That would be awesome.

Delmon Young of the Detroit Tigers reportedly was arrested Friday morning for allegedly attacking a man in front of a midtown Manhattan hotel.

Serious question. Is calling someone a Jew anti-Semitic? Obviously it is wrong and insensitive, but would that along with what is clearly a very minor assault be enough to constitute a hate crime?

It's all about intent. And we have zero clue as to what really happened and all we know is that he's been charged with a misdemeanor.
And for all you Young haters, this is the guy who played with a sore side in the playoffs last year and who also hit a game winning hr in game 3 vs the Yankees. He's a lifetime .287 hitter. Not a great player but a solid player.

My understanding of "hate crime" was that someone targets a member of a group/ethnicity/religion for abuse. Not sure we have enough info to determine that in this case.
