  • So this guarantees a true freshman at the helm when they visit EL next year. Excellent. Bring lots of tissue Shane, your crying days aren't over.

Roundtree at least has a 900+ receiving yard season to his name. Gallon has more experience than any of MSU's WRs.

At the same time, Roundtree functions best as a slot WR; I don't know how he'll handle being a flanker. Suffice to say there are questions about both squad's passing attacks.

He also had 246 yards in one 3OT game versus Illinois in 2010. In 2011, he had 355 yards...all year. And he wasn't injured. Probably more to do with a QB that was in a new offense and didn't look past Hemingway very much. However, Hemingway only had 34 catches on the year anyway.

  • If Gardner doesn't transfer now, hes an idiot.

Kid is getting worked by Jesus Robinson and the hokie pokie machine

Hoke must have promised the world to Shane Morris, because they are moving the wrong QB to WR

Its really ironic that he clearly can throw better than Denard, but yet he's the one making the move. I just finished watching a replay of our game against UM last year. If it wasn't for Denards inability to hit a wide open receivers consistently, we probably lose that game.

There's a reason for all of those open WR's, we don't expect Denard to be making great throws.

I think i head a SCumer say they were impressed with Russell Bellomy. So it will be him and Morris fighting it out in 2013.

He must have a really shitty arm not to beat out shoelaces. Wow, I am not worried about a win at the big hole at all. Go Green!

You don't remember Bradon's comment on Shoelace when they hired Hoke regarding how Robinson would fit into Hoke's offense? Paraphrasing, "There is no way we are going to take the Big Ten's Offensive POY off the field."

No way on God's green earth Brandon would give Hoke the okay on benching Robinson even if Gardner had made huge strides. Robinson is the centerpiece of Brandon's 2012 marketing pitch.

More than a few of us predicted an unhappy end for Gardner in his quest to be the started in aa. His first 2 years were burned by rr because Robinson was a much better fit for rr's QB as a QB/HB hybrid and then Tater Tot bolted.

Can't say Gardner would have not ended up having a different path in East Lansing but we know that there would have been about a 90% chance he would have been a reshirt and given more time. MSU got Joe Boisture that year and he was a redshirt.

This kid was sold a pig in a poke by rr, robbed of a redshirt year and now is getting nudged out of his position.

Has apparently been officially moved to Wide Receiver. Update on Gardner's FB account and passed to me from a scUM acquaintance. Who's going to step up when our hungry defense knocks Denard out of the game? Bellamy?

With so much discussion on this, your acquaintance should have informed you that he also posted it's just a role as part-time WR for certain packages (he is still the backup QB it seems) to get him on the field more.

  • I'm sure it went down like this

Borgess: (Steps into Hokes Office) "We will be moving Gardner to Wideout this year"
Hoke: "Are you sure I am not sure if we have enough depth, but I am pretty clueless on that side of the ball"
Borgess: (Raises back of the hand in a threatening manner) "Do you question thy master insolent one?"
Hoke: "(Crouches in fear) No my liege, may I fetch you a goblet of bacon grease"
Borgess: "I should be fine now go be a good ole boy in front of the media while me and Mattision run this team"

    "Great, kid. Don't get cocky."

Never, ever take a game with UM for granted. They have voodoo, made packs with the devil, and have Delany on their side. Far, far too many times they've won games no one else would. They're the undead. Don't forget it.

Yup, we win this year and there's a good chance the streak will get quite a bit longer. coachd

  • I'm pretty sure this board called Gardner's move to WR the day he committed. The only difference is we all thought he would still be behind Tater at QB.

Well, we have a few months to see how bad he wants to play QB. I have no idea whether he could be a good one or not, but if he thinks he can be a good one....

Oh Christ...for your sake I hope Speilman doesn't do a lot of Michigan games on ESPN...Get ready for more bitching. Or was that when Gardner was QB? Either way Speilman isn't going to be happy with the decisions being made by Michigan coaches.

This is what I immediately thought. Wonder if its one of the Morris camp's stipulations like Henson pulled.

Hoke better hope Shane Morris is the real deal.

I don't know if we lose, but it might have been closer. We gave them a TD worth of penalty yards. Clean that up and it's a 3 score win.

Yeah, if we're going to down that road, that game should have been a ridiculous blow out.

If you do the math for their average starting position, we gave them a TD and a field goal of penalty yards.

  • To play devil's advocate, UM's all-time leading WR in yards was Braylon Edwards . . . who was a QB turned WR. McNutt from Iowa followed a similar path. I'd expect the first year to be rough, but a 6'4 220 pound WR that can run is a pretty nice weapon to have on any offense.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
