Didn't realize how truly special tMW is until I moved back.

I am glad I got out of the Midwest for a few years, but it truly is a special place. I almost forgot what it's like to have nice weather that doesn't feel like you are in an oven the entire summer. The people are friendly. Great place to raise a family, and there is nothing like the magic in air in B1G country once football season comes around.

Maybe it's because I live in the SF Bay but I find it hard to believe ppl in California are boring.
I can see that point if you're near the 5. The coast and Yosemite are far from boring.

the Midwest is pretty lame imo. Lots of fat chicks & terrible weather.
I'll take the Southwest over the midwest any day of the week.

I'm heading back from AZ too and I bet we are not talking like this in January. I love summer and fall in tMW but Jan-Apr blows and AZ is beautiful then. Can't have it all I suppose.

I looked up obesity rate and Metro Detroit and Metro Phoenix are pretty close. Out of 100 people there are like 4 more fat people in Metro Det. If you're using Tempe as your sample size then at least make it fair and use East Lansing as your sample size for MI.

Once again, I'll take a sunset over lake Michigan than over miles and miles of barren desert sand and random tumbleweeds and a cactus....at 100 degrees at sunset

If you are into outdoor winter sports it isn't as bad. And also the indoor sports are bigger in the MW. But yeah there are times where it absolutely sucks. But I am sure in the desert there are times where it is so effing hot that is really sucks. Plus we don't have scorpions or rattlesnakes everywhere.

The thing is, there are plenty of jobs in Michigan, however they are jobs that a lot of people don't want to do like manufacturing. The company where I work is constantly hiring manufacturing positions and with the OT the guys would be making close to 75K a year. Same as the Manufacturing company my uncle owns. Hell I am having a company pay me well right now and they are going to pay for me to go back to school to be what they call a Field Engineer (a plant superintendent/foreman type of deal).

Good thing the people that stay in the Midwest are tougher than you, and don't have a dump truck's worth of sand in their vagina and can therefore handle weather that changes and makes for great winter activities. Because it's those kind of people that make the Midwest great.
