Do you know any swingers? Are you one?

  • My longtime girlfriend and I were recently approached by a couple we've been friends with since our MSU days. They were telling us about these "swingers" parties they've been attending lately, and how they are really a great way to spice things up. They've also approached us about possibly joining them on a trip to a nudist/swingers resort in Negril, Jamaica, and we're actually considering it. My question to tRCMB: Does anyone have any personal experience/advice as to whether this is a good decision? Have you or any of your buddies been confronted with this same situation?

  • no, but me and my girl were once approached by a swing couple at a bar one night. they were significantly older than us and the male felt my girls theighs and complemented them. his woman fully approved. then he purchased her a drink and kept flowing on the compliments. his woman was real sexual with me as well. i didn't stop this since i found it entertaining. they invited us to another bar but i declined as my female was slightly put off. yes i'm a bro and i think that's a pretty cool story

  • I dabbled in the lifestyle for a few years and had a great time. For good reason, single men aren't allowed at most parties. Regarding your situation though, jumping in head first and going to a swingers resort in Jamaica IMO might be a little too much too soon. I mean you've never even gone to a swingers party. Have you two ever had a threesome or a foursome? What about same room voyeur sex? If I were you I'd start a little more slowly and try to gauge your interest/comfort level in the lifestyle and find out what you guys like and don't like before you start going to places like Hedonism and Jamaica Swing. If you do all of that first, it'll make your swing vacation (if you ever do decide to take it) a lot more enjoyable. Just my twocents

    Haha, I can't do that.

    My gf is blonde, and I'd probably consider her about an 7.5-8. The friend is a brunette, and I'd say she's an 8-8.5.

    Both girls are a lot of fun, and this could turn into a week of absolute drunken debauchery. I could use a "college spring break-like" trip after being graduated for a couple years.

    We've never done the swinger thing, but it's the type of situation where I don't believe it would be weird if both of us had enough to drink. Both of us are very comfortable in our commitment to each other, but we just want to have some weird fun for a while before likely getting married.

    I guess you're right about it being a good idea to try it here first, but we're both people who tend to let loose on vacation. Both of us would be more comfortable doing this in a far away location.

  • My experience is that one person in the relationship often gets jealous afterwards. Fun as heck for a night, but not so much fun in subsequent days. If you are willing to gamble on the long term relationship with the gf, go for it. If you want her to potentially be a wifey and mother of your children someday, might be a bad idea. For me, funnest night ever turned into a bad deal.

  • This will not end well. If you must do it, it is best done before anyone is married or kids are involved. Most swingers will say that they know a former swinger who is great with long term relationships. Some may even be able to point to an example or two. But swingers with healthy long-term relationships are very few and far between. People like to think that they won’t get jealous, but they almost always do eventually. Oh yea, cover your willie.
