Do you think less of dentists because of The Doctor?

"doctors" haha. Makes me laugh. And whoever said getting into dental school is more competitive than med school is a fool.

Anyone who gets the highest degree they can in their field is a doctor. They go through as much school as any other doctor, and should get that same respect.

...this has nothing to do with the OP, just in general.

You have to remember that a large percentage of posters on this board barely earned a B.A/S or are presently sleepwalking through the minimum stds as we speak (if they even went to college). They have very little knowledge of the intelligence and dedication required to earn a PhD in any discipline.

I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.

  • My experience with Dentists have been similar to my experience with mechanics. There are some that just flat out rip you off and do work you do not need and there are some that are just fantastic. I've found far more variability with Dentists then with other Doctors. Word of mouth from someone you trust is important.

What facts do you have to base your opinion? Seems to me a large percentage of posters on here are engineers or computer sci geeks. That makes them smarter than you. You are a professional disc golfer. Lol

tanfan trying to get in good with the high school kids. after 60+ years of ass kissing practice, you've got it down. lol

I thought Doc's question earlier was pretty interesting, you scampered away from it like the weasel you are: Dude, you are 60 some odd years old. Give it up. Would your wife and kids be proud of your petty behavior on this board?

    mentally or physically?

mentally he's stuck in middle school. physically? if grey hair, brown teeth and wrinkles are any indication, then yes, he's old.

They still got the highest degree possible, and a podiatrist goes to school for 8 years, with a 3 year residency. They are a doctor. It's just a pet peeve of mine when people say "you aren't a real doctor." Yes, they are a real doctor, because they spent the school and money going as far as they could. Every one of them deserves that kind of respect.

Mario is apparently a physician, Zhivago is a physician, and Dr Seuss is not a doctor at all.

It is harder to get into a reputable dental school than a medical school these days. A private school like Detroit Mercy is a perfectly good example. They do a lot more clinical and lab work than a med student, and the grading system is a lot more stringent. From the circle of my friends the DDS degree holders enjoy a much better life style and make more money than the MDs. Nice try though.

Just to point out something obvious to most, that is a joke from Seinfeld. Shocker considering a guy with the name Cosmo Kramer posted it.

    Nice try though.

He dropped out of the program after he met his wife according to his bio. Never finished the doctorate.
edit: "After Dartmouth, he entered Lincoln College, Oxford, intending to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in English literature. At Oxford, he met his future wife, Helen Palmer; he married her in 1927, and returned to the United States without earning a degree"
