    If you think everything is hunky dorey the Wings beat the BlueJackets 7-2 Monday and turn around and lose to them 4-2 on Wed? That's funny too.

    How do you know about ADD meds? You one of the jumpy kids that took them?

    Anyone with a clue knows home ice advantage. I also know the Wings aren't in the postition with the presumed #1 goalie and a hot backup waiting on the bench. It doesn't look like '07-'08 where Osgood took over from Hasek and won the Cup.

    Between going to the Caps* game and watching them going down 3-0 on 9 shots in the time it takes an MgoBlogger to pre in his pants at the thought of banging a chick, and absolutely shitting the bed last night I've really lost the desire to even watch this team.

    Fucking pathetic, the Jackets are total garbage.

    *Yes I realize 3/4's of the team was missing for that one.

    I think they are an underdog against Nashville. Losing home ice hurt. 6 or 7 game series. Toss up.

    Nashville got Radulov back from the KHL in late March and he has 3 goals/4 assists in 9 games at RW.
    They had to lift their own susupension to put him back on the roster.
    Nashville roster has one of my favorite NHL names: Jordin Tootoo

    RedWings have got to hope Howard stays healthy and gets in a zone. Abdelkader, Miller and Erricson need to come up with some magic for the boys to see the 2nd round.

    I'm no math genius... but the post before mine says 6 days ago shrug

    I'm not crazy about the Wings defense ever since Quincy was brought on board. That combined with some injuries has had the defense playing way out of character. Lines have been screwed up, players were playing on the wrong side, plus the fact that McDonald is not Jimmy Howard. Quincy takes some really dumb penalties to top it off !

    Even after saying all that... I still think this series goes 7 games.

    This sounds about right.

    I won't be screaming for Babcock to get the axe if the Wings lose in the first round. Although if the Wings fail to show up entirely I'm sure a nice long serious discussion with the Pizza Pizza King and Holland would be in order. The Wings have two games to get healthy and address chemistry issues before they come home to the Joe for game 3. A reversal of past seasons, I think the Wings will get better the longer the series goes. Game one and two are huge for Preds, I think that if Detroit steals one of those games the Wings will wrap up the series in 6. If not game 7 is going to be awesome!

    The obvious reason that this thread was "burried"....Tiger baseball began...is obvious. Other than the Wings going really deep in the playoffs, in which case Babcock will be summarily fired, they are a non story in the local sports world these days.

    Ok lets talk top 6 forwards
    1. Pavel - he's awesome but I think he needs more rehab on that knee. He doesn't usually skate as slow as he has been and he's running out of gas sooner.
    2. Hank a he's been the Wings best player every playoff game
    3. Johan -is a goal scorer who has been light on the goals. He needs to start taking the puck to the net and jumping on rebounds unfortunately he's fallen in love with his wrister.
    4. Val - I thought at the beginning of the year he was having his best year ever now he's a ghost especially when he's needed to cover for a pinching D! Needs to step his game up in the playoffs or he gone next year.
    5. Jiri - is standing around a lot which is nothing new but if tWings resign him I think it's time to groom him to be the next Homer or Ciccarelli and jus have him piss off goalies on the PP. He is most likely gone?
    6. Danny Cleary is trying, he's working hard and had a solid chance at a goal last night and was stoned. He is a Red Wing for at least another year ($3million) and I hope he can recapture his 2008 glory but he looks broken. needs major rehab or retire.

  • I think the real question is: Does Mike Illitch pull the plug on Ken Holland sooner or later?

    Obviously I know that is not happening, but at what point does yearly complacency at trade deadlines/UFA period become an issue to the rest of the franchise? Babcock has explicitly stated that he does not have certain types of players he would like to have, but nothing is ever done to appease him.
