This team lacks a legitimate pure goalscorer. Franzen was supposed to be that guy when he got the long-term deal, but it hasn't happened. Babcock is one of, if not the best in the game. It's not his fault the team has offensive deficiencies and unless Pav's returns to last years ridiciulous playoff form it will be tough to score goals at times. But, relax, the team is not this bad, they're just not as good as we expect the wings to be

The Wings have only really had that with any consistency in 2008-09 with Hossa.

Hossa gets a lot of hate for the 09 series against the Penguins for the cup. Most people ignore the fact that he was playing with a broken shoulder through the series. I miss having him on the roster.

With the win tonight the Wings tie Chicago and Minnesota (at least temporarily) for first in the Western Conference.

Did notice Mr. Universe and ChuckieSleaze were very quiet when they started the West Coast swing 0-2. I hope they keep having solid goal production and a good run.

Keep on bumping and then disappear when the boys lose 3 and 4 in a row.
They are 8-2 in their last 10 and have a +16 goals differential.

Sleaze. My concern was after 6 seasons the team was getting a tin ear to Babcock's coaching. After that 6 game losing streak where they had awful goal production they have stepped up.

Yeah, its possible. Though, the reason I thought that wasn't the case was because of the new assistants we brought in. Also, it seemed like we were just not scoring, we were shooting, they just weren't going in. I also would blindly follow Ken Holland into the 9th ring of hell.

I still would like to see them pick up a legit 1st line goal scoring winger and possibly another penalty killer (the PK'er could be Mursak and/or the 1st line winger).

There are still issues with the team, not many, but there are some. I would love to see Hudler traded for a bag of pucks, but I've wanted that for 3+ years. However, not many players are playing awful other than him and Conklin. And if your biggest worry is your backup goaltender, that is a good thing.
