Does anyone have Ebling's new book yet?

  • SIAP. I searched and didn't find a thread about this.

I just ordered "Heart of a Spartan" from their website. After several long minutes weighing the pros and cons of each cover choice, I went for the one with Dantonio, Cunningham, and Nichol. I'm fairly confident I made the right call.

If you have the book, what's your review?

  • I was looking on that site earlier today and noticed all the book signings are in E.L./Lansing and Chicago. None in the Detroit area.

    $49.95 + $10 shipping and handling + Tax

I wish there was a cheaper paperback option. I really want to read it, but I don't really need a coffee table book.

  • Jack said in the weeks RCR that VIP members are getting a special offer this week sometime, so I'll wait and get it that way.

I have a copy and bought more for friends/family for the Holidays..

Consider buying a copy for your bathroom, your nightstand, and your office. I find I get anxious when I don't have one handy to reference

It was just shipped from the printer to the distributor and should be in area bookstores and all Michigan Meijer stores by mid-week. You're all invited to the book's official launch party at Reno's East from 6-8 p.m. this Thursday. . . . I can't decide which cover is best. I'd like some input here so we're ready for reprints. Joe Rexrode did a great job of previewing the book in today's LSJ.

We're finalizing a couple of signings in Metro Detroit and should have that information for you this week. It's just a question of where and when. We're looking at several possibilities. Suggestions?

You won't be sorry. Heart of a Spartan: The Story of a Michigan State Football Renaissance is a two-year project that survived a coach's heart attack, an author's cancer surgery and a 42-point bowl loss. It chronicles the winningest two-year period and most exciting stretch in MSU history. It's divided into two sections _ a historical narrative, with input from 33 of the greatest Spartans of all time, and an all-encompassing look at the last two seasons and the people who made them possible. The book, my seventh, is 288 oversized, full-color pages, with fabulous photography from Matthew Mitchell and a Foreword by Tom Izzo. The website, with a lot of important info, is: http://heartofaspartanbook.com. The Twitter handle is: @SpartanHeart. The book sells for $49.95 and is probably underpriced. I haven't found anything that tells and illustrates the story of a collegiate program in quite the same way. I don't know of another book that can make you laugh and cry, help you win a ton of bar bets, supply ammo to win arguments with fans of other teams, make you say, "Man, I didn't know that!" or "What a great photo!" AND be the perfect holiday or birthday gift. Personalized copies are available on the website. We'll have close to a dozen signings in Michigan and other places around the country, as demand dictates (including two in Chicago on Aug. 19). Locally, everyone is invited to our book launch party at Reno's East from 6-8 p.m. this Thursday and at special events at Walnut Hills CC, Forest Akers GC, Student Book Store, Schuler Books (Eastwood) and Everybody Reads over the next six weeks.

It's available anywhere online _ http://heartofaspartanbook.com or @spartanheart _ with your choice of covers. It'll be at all Michigan Meijer stores. And we'll take the show on the road. Chicago is set for Aug. 19. We'll have other stops to announce fairly soon.
