Does every Devils win make Parise to the Wings less likely?

Or will he realize this is Brodeur's last hurrah? Personally, I have a hard time seeing him leaving, now that he's producing in the playoffs and having success. NJ can sign a goalie as good or better than Jimmy Howard.

Probably will raise his price but the Predator's loss to Phoenix makes Suter a a bit more possible.

They also don't rely on Marty as much now that they have (thankfully) changed their style of play.

I'm not sure the Devils will be able to afford him, regardless of how far they go in the playoffs.

Who? The only "big time" goaltender rumored to be available through any means of acquisition is Roberto Luongo. There aren't any big name goaltenders on the UFA market this year (I think Vokoun is the biggest). I think if Brodeur retires, Parise might be as good as gone unless Luongo manages to become a Devil.

Goalies are no longer valued the way they were 5-10 years ago. Other than the Flyers paying Brygalov $10M, no other team in the top15 payrolls have their goalie as their highest paid player. The Sabres have Miller as the second highest salary but many don't even have goalies in their highest ten.
Its possible the Devils make moves to improve their defense like Detroit needs to and offers Brodeur something less than the $5.2M he got this year.
