Draft Day Surprises & More (Updated With Full Rosters)

  • I know this is slightly off topic. . . but who is the 3rd string QB right now after Cook, and how talented is that person. I've heard some people complimenting Vento as a HS player, but I really don't have a clue about the back up QBs talent levels.

For the spring? This fall they'll probably go with a walk-on and not burn O'Connor's RS.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

Are there going to be any surprise players or cameo appearances from anyone??

Last year we saw Day-Day play some tight end...

I've heard about Payne wanting to play some WR. Unstoppable fade-route anyone?

I wouldn't say probably. Maybe at best. O'Connor probably makes the travel roster. In a worst case scenario where Maxwell and O'Connor were out for at least a week, we'd probably want O'Connor starting with some Lippett added in.

Obviously though, the staff will try not to burn his redshirt, but the QB depth is thin.

  • I think the teams look fairly even...which is a testiment to the depth MSU has.

  • Looks like a good match-up for the most part.

    Formerly Blade Runner.

  • Green has the better D-Line with Gholston, Kittredge, Calhoun, and ARW

But White has by far the better back 7 with Bullough, Allen, Harris, Adams, and Lewis

  • Watch for true Fr. walk-on RB Tony Fant out of Detroit Loyola who is living his dream of playing football for MSU.
Tony used to PM me on the Scout site about how to get into MSU and what the University was like and how to get in contact with the coaches. He enrolled at MSU last Fall.
Tony is a great kid and he absolutely loves MSU.
Tony is on the Green team. Root for him !

Noticed him on the official spring game rosters and he was the only player I didn't recognize. Thanks for the info.

Yea, last year was pretty one-sided. It helps to have the QB position dead-even lol.

Tony is a tough hard-nosed runner with some elusiveness in the open field and decent speed. He is a tough runner on the goal line and has a nose for the end zone. He should get some carries in the game since Le'Veon Bell is on the Green team and probably won't get a lot of carries.

With the Green Team and their OLine/Bell...Cook's going to be handing off...

With the White Team, and their recievers, Cook's going to air it out!
