Bell seems to be one of the toughest guys to take down that I have seen in a while. On numerous occasions the dude just carries a pile down field for another 4 or 5 yards after contact.

He may not have elite speed or athleticism (even though he's pretty athletic), but he does have elite balance, which is a pretty rare attribute.

Redd is the guy they always say is a great back...just wait. Really. He's a great back. Watch. Any time now....
toussant is a mouse who you'd love as, say, a compliment to Bell or Burkehead. He's very good for the sneak plays um uses, but again, every team has a spy on shoelaces, not him.

1.Ball
2.Bell
3.Toussiant
4. Burkhead I guess(I think the readers are infatuated with him being a white runningback(A rarity) and being actually good thus they have put him on a pedstal. He's a good runningback, but he is not that good.)
5. Silas Redd although he could easily pass burkhead after this season.
Everybody else.

Receiving stats:
Ball: 24 catches, 306 yards, 6 TDs
Burkhead: 21 catches, 177 yards, 2 TDs
Redd: 9 catches, 40 yards
Toussaint: 6 catches, 28 yards, 1 TD
Bell: 35 catches, 267 yards
Bell is the only one that I think is regularly split wide; Burkhead runs wheel routes and catches screens, as does Ball.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

If he's not ahead of Ball, he's close. There's a huge seperation between Ball/Bell and the rest of the pack. Bookmarked this to link back like the "Izzo's Gang No Longer Green Giant" article.

I think Burkhead might spontaneously combust by the end of the season. Poor QB play = tons of carries for the RB. He'll get worn down.

White Javon in 2008, not as good though.
Based on stats from last year you have to put Bell 5, he's obviously better than croissaint. It's a crap shoot after that though.

By the end of the year they were running a lot of routes with him.

Way bigger than 240... He could only get down to 255 for the combine. He was pushing 275 his frosh year when he was really only the power back.
He got down to 250 ish for his soph/junior years.
How about "Bench presses 505 lbs"... and a 10.9 100 at 250lbs Insane out of a guy who was like 20 years old.

I think the shoulder pads and facemask Duckett wore added about 25 pounds as well.

And I'd take him over Fitz in a second, and he has a higher ceiling than Burkhead.

Since this thread got bumped I'm going to disagree and think he compares favorably with Steven Jackson because of his running style and his solid hands which Beanie doesn't really have but S-Jax does.
Being called a sunshine blower is not insulting to me and I'm proud to be one.

I guess 8-9 man fronts, and safeties cheating down on every play is actually beneficial to a running back.
