ESPN Ranks the Big Ten's Head Coaching Jobs

I do to. A big chunk of their budget is going to be heading the way of the courts,

None of PSU's legal fees or settlement money will come from the athletic budget.

Don't think -- it can only hurt the ballclub

  • Penn St. seems like the 13th best job in the conference right now...

  • No way is wisconsin a better job. Too cold and white up there for it to be any different.

Fyi, gotta love the anti msu bias of espn. First msu bball isn't a better gig than iu and osu, and by the same criteria, we aren't somehow better than uw.

  • Article doesn't factor in job security and sky-high salary afforded at the University of Iowa. Recruiting disadvantages suck, but the support is second to none. Two coaches in 33 years speaks for itself.

Lansing is basically as far north as Madison, FWIW.

One advantage UW might have over MSU is that it is the only Div1 school (or whatever it's called nowadays) in the state--no competing with a UM for instate talent and "marginal" in-state players are more apt to walk on given there's no WMU or CMU or wherever offering schollies.

As for facilities, UW's are pretty crappy & def. amongst the worst in the conference, with the exception of Camp Randall. However, they're opening/rehabbing a new complex that should help bridge the gap.
