ESPN's Sarah Phillips a scam/Front

Funny, in one email exchange the guy on gchat typing as sarah claims to be a lawyer...
There is something in her that shows how miserable our society has become... Not that you can fake who you are to make profit, that's been going on for ages... its that people are so caught up in otherwise worthless content (for all of this attention "Sarah" wasn't really worth reading) to drive advertising they're willing to sign over twitter accounts, facebook pages, etc. in exchange for a few hypothetical dollars. Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but this reeks a little too much of the "wild wild west" of the digital frontier.

some random asian... the issue is that there are a bunch of pictures of "her" which don't look like "her" at all... that picture was taken from "hot chicks with douches" or something like that.

This is an ongoing lawsuit right now where twitter followers are valued at $2.50 a month. With a twitter account you can sell ad space like a commercial during a tv show.
If PhoneDog wins that lawsuit, a twitter account with 50,000 followers is essentially worth $1.5 million
So yeah. 50,000 followers is worth a lot more than $500

Yea, but if you have a Twitter account, I'm guessing you don't have 50,000 followers. Not every Twitter user is interested in selling ad space, but someone with that many followers certainly might consider it.

This is so bazaar. She obviously tries to con people with Twitter accounts to provide admin access to their accounts so they can steal them. This is another blog post by someone who is responsible for @OhWonka
This is fascinating stuff. Can't wait to watch the Dateline.

Background on Phillips and Prasad. I don't understand why everyone is dismissing Phillips as the one writing the columns. I'm thinking she was the one behind the sports portion of the business, Prasad was the one figuring out how to scam people using her work.

There are a lot of very nervous people in Bristol right now, and if the following passage is any indication of the book, erm, unique extracurricular activities, and it appeared in an early version of Those Guys but was later excised.
