Evan Jones Commits to MSU.......Again

The Free Press is back at it. Breaking the now three and a half month old story about Evan Jones committing to MSU.
Is it too much to ask that they check their own archives? After all, they reported the same story on May 9th.
What a fucking joke.
EDIT: Fuck. Someone beat me to it, although they seemed to actually believe the story. So we can use this to rip the Free Press.

Sad really. It used to be a respected, quality newspaper. When did it start going downhill? When Gannett took them over? When Mitch Albom started writing untrue stories?

Is MSU better off to have to have sophomoric, amateur style coverage or no coverage from the Freep (and News)?
Seriously, I'd rather have MSU pull all media credentials from the likes of the Freep as opposed to get what we are getting from them now. Total garbage.

...and I have been criticized on the old board for saying and doing this but here I say it again: If ALL Spartan fans boycotted the Freep and DetNews, both on line and hard copy, I truly believe we could put them both out of business. Too bad there isn't the discipline nor interest around here in doing so. I am one voice in the wilderness I guess.

I don't read either of them any longer, and haven't for a long time. The writing is horrible, the coverage is biased, and they wouldn't know how to report "substance" if it bit them. I figure if I ca't get what I need from the national news and summaries from fellow Spartan bloggers, I don't need to know about it.

While I understand their journalism is shoddy, I see no reason to put even more Detroit businesses out of business...people besides bad sports journalists do work there, why put more people out of jobs? Boom wells.

Ok, looking closer at this story I think I've figured out what's going on. This story originally comes from the Coshocton (Ind.) Tribune. It wasn't supposed to be a "commitment" story, but rather just a "checking up on the kid heading into the season" story. Someone from the Freep grabbed the story off of the wire, which is cool, but then mistakenly added the commitment headline "Recruiting: Ohio TE Evan Jones commits to Michigan State".
