I've been at bars, parties, and sporting events where random USA chants have broken out. It's kinda funny and patriotic at the same time.
But I see where this fake sense of being offended comes from...so if these kids end up needing to go through sensitivity training, what do I need to go through for some of the dumb shit I chanted when I was in college? Among the more insensitive:
- Use your gun (when a cop was confronting a student in the student section)
- Shoot em like a horse (when an opposing player was injured)
- Eat shit
- Fuck you
- (insert opposing mascot) sucks the ref
- (insert opposing student section) sucks the (insert opposing mascot)
- Cop beats his wife
Those are just a few that come to mind quickly. I must be a horrible, hateful, racist, sexist, evil person!
I know these types chants are dumb and disrespectful, but I was drunk, dumb, and in college. These kids are in high school, and probably also a little disrespectful and dumb...they too will grow up like I have.

It is kind of funny that the automatically took that chant to be a taunt directed at them. If they too are legal americans, they should have not been offended and joined in.
By the way, 50-39? As a Wisconsin fan I have to say, dang...these teams can put up some points.

Are people REALLY having this difficult of a time grasping the context of this chant?
To act as this isn't a big deal is shocking to me. This school and these fans should be ashamed of themselves for chanting USA at the predominantly minority school. It's bad enough to see politicians play the "I'm more American than you" game but to actually see it used by the average non-scumbags of our society is sad.

Come on! Those kids were clearly making an anti-Hispanic chant. They were suggesting because the kids were Hispanic they weren't Americans.
If you were Hispanic you would feel differently.
This is as bad as the USA Soccer team playing in Mexico about 10 years ago and hearing "9/11" and "Al qaeda" both chants are equally offensive.
Whatever happened to civility?
