Love documentaries. I'd watch one a week if I find the right ones but the problem is that a lot of them are so small that its tough to hear about them. There was a thread on the old board that had a great list of docs that people liked. So, post some in here.

If you have Netflix streaming, here are a few I that would be good (politics be damned)
Capturing the Friedman's (i'd recommend this one first ... one of my favorites)

all of those were on instant streaming when I watched them..

I just finished watching Best Worst Movie, the documentary on the making of Troll 2, the worst movie ever made. I never saw Troll 2 but I really like this doc and it is not just for people who are "in" on that movie. It's about a lot of things: redemption for the people who's career this movie ruined, the other side of a culture that you probably aren't apart of, where these actors ended up. Its good. Highly recommended for people who like human interest stories.

I've heard thats really good. That he is an indescribable dick to everyone, I'll check it out for sure. I've got about 30 waiting in my streaming queue so I need to start watching.

"4 Little Girls." It's about the bombing of that Alabama church in the '60s. I don't like everything Spike Lee has done, but this is quite excellent. Highly recommended!

Tell Them Anything You Want: A portrait of Maurice Sendak.
An HBO documentary. I watched it when it aired, but have also found it online (on weird sites where I was sure my computer was being given viruses left and right.) If you can find it, definitely worth a watch.

Just watched Restrepo...Very good.
One good on to check out is "The Edge of Never". It is about a 15 year old skier (Kye Petersen) who is taking on the slopes of Chamonix, the same area where his dad (extreme skier Trevor Petersen) passed away at in an avalanche in the early 90's.
I am a skier/ski coach so I'm sure that is why it appeals to me, but overall it was well done, with some great visual scenes.

Worth mentioning even though it's not the best ever or anything... New doc on hbo as we speak called Lombardi. It's about Vince and his life as a mentor father husband and coach. Just riveting. My wife was in tears and I was holding them back when they spoke about the impact he had on peoples lives.

If you are interested in WWII then the World at War is a great documentary. It is pretty old so there are a lot of interviews with former SS officers. Pretty interesting stuff
