F*&k You Mitch Albom Thread

  • Mitch is trying to save the world again, apparently soothing the souls of glass half-empty Hockeytowners who are disappointed to have missed out on Parise and Suter.

    I will not link the article, and I will not click on it to read it. I will only post here to say Fuck You Mitch! Though very kind of you to email in your bi-quarterly article to your editor @ freep.com, we don't want to, nor need to hear your encouraging words. Go back to growing your mullet over your ears in your compound in Ann Arbor.

    I am so f'ing sick of this guy. Put the Fab Five stuff aside. This little Napolean thinks he can show up any time something of relevance happens, inject himself into the situation and spotlight, and speak for Metro Detroiters. You can't, and you don't, Frodo. Half of your penmanship is whimsical bullshit with no basis in reality, and you have zero respect amongst your peers.

    In short, fuck you and fuck you again for trying to make a buck off of Ernie. (RIP)

    Sorry for the rant, I'm a couple whiskeys in and this article set me off.

    Don't worry too much, Drew Sharp is currently working on an article about how we should scrap the team and they should move the organization somewhere else because Hockeytown is no more. Check back tomorrow for said article.

    Agree, it sucks. Ernie deserves a production, and I would love to see one celebrating all that he means to everyone who he has touched. Yet, I know that this is a show based on bullshit and I refuse to even consider seeing it. I see the commercials and I get sad and angry at the same time.

    What's even worse is my wife and in-laws know the regard I hold Ernie in and keep telling me about this great play downtown about him and how I need to go see it. I am ready to cut the next MF'er who suggests that I go put dollars in Mitch's pockets.

Recently, as in an hour ago or so when I made the OP, Mitch's article was the headline story on the website. Are you familiar with websites? Not only did it include the headline and a picture to accompany the headline, it also included a few paragraphs, which I barely skimmed. Yet, enough to gain an understanding of what Frodo was trying to accomplish with his bullshit article. If you would like, I could use a revolutionary piece of software, such as "Windows" to take a screen cap of this remarkable situation for you.

    Go play shuffleboard.

    Look, I'm not going to defend mitch albom here, but I really don't want to trash the show. It is true that it is:

    A. Poorly written with schlocky devices to create a plot.

    B. Contains a character that gets to be both annoying and superfluous at the same time (the boy).

    C. Is purposely manipulative and at times self congratulatory.

    BUUUUT... I do have to say that I really want to encourage people to support the local theatre professionals that are busting their ass every night in spite of albom to make that show shine. Will Young is especially killing it as Ernie. A lesser actor would have made me throw bricks at the stage, but Will really nails it and made me feel like I was sitting around and listening to an Ernie story. You cold tell the parts where albom basically copied and pasted an entire story from an interview because the writing suddenly didn't suck. Then the kid would speak and fuckin ruin everything, but hey...
