Food Network

  • The Food Net should bring "EPIC MEAL TIME!" to TV.

Email to FN this evening after discovering another stupid episode of Cupcake Wars

    TWIMC in programming:

A one hour series about...cupcakes? During prime time? On top of the nightly cake and baking challenges during prime time? Seriously? Do that many viewers really want to see this stuff?

The cake challenges are like watching paint dry...even hottie Claire Robinson can't make them interesting. Keegan Gerhard is one of the most boring people on TV and crabby Kerry Vincent is icing on the cake en route to an immediate channel change.

I've watched Food Network a lot over the last 6-7 years. The evening programming has definitely slipped over the last year or so. I find myself watching much more Travel Channel now.

Bring back entertainment...Good Eats & Emeril Live would be a good start. Even re-runs of those shows would be much better than what you air now.

    Best regards, The Pantry

Considering Scripps owns both the Food Net and The Travel Channel, they probably don't care. As long as your watching one of them.

  • Chopped All-Stars coming up at 9. The premise of this 5-week show has potential to be somewhat entertaining

    Wasn't that on yesterday?

    Emeril? Seriously?

No. Tonight's the first episode. Not sure if Emeril's in this tournament or not...don't remember seeing him in the ads. It'll be fun to see some of the Chopped judges (arrogant foodies) and other FN personalities duking for bragging rights

Ah, last night they had a champions of champions series of episodes, although they weren't new. This celebrity one has potential. I like to watch it with my 5 year old and pause it after the basket and ask him what he'd made. Nine times out of ten it's a sandwich.

By raising Emeril I was asking why you asked Food Network to put him back on. He was everything that was (and largely still is) wrong with the network. Not a good cook and a mind numbing personality. I agree that the cupcake shit has to stop though.

I think most would disagree with your assessment of his cooking ability. His personality is fine and as he was the Food Network's first breakout star and the horse they rode to their current status, I'd say many enjoyed watching his shows.

They need to retire this because they are seriously disrespecting the whole Iron Chef series. That list of "chefs" is terrible.

Know what you're saying but most of them have been judging other chefs for years. It'll be fun to see some of them humbled.
