Forbin and gHoost's Great Adventure

As many of you RCMBers know, Forbin was out in AZ over the weekend. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we ware unable to hike Grand Canyon, so instead we hiked Flatiron, Superstition Mountains, near Apache Junction, Arizona. It's a great hike. Fairly long, distance / and good ascent / descent from the summit, especially in the blazing sun and heat. At times in the canyon the temps were around 105F degrees. The upper portion of the trail requires significant scrambling over the rocks. Here are some pics and videos from our Great Adventure.

There was a group of teenagers who were reckless and carelessly scrambling up the trail, thereby kicking rocks downward. We felt obligated to warn our fellow hikers during the journey.

Yo gHost, what's AJ like these days? Went to high school there, and heard it's turned to shit. Although it wasn't much to begin with. Superstitions are beautiful though, especially when they actually got snow during those winter mornings.

You probably know better than I do but it seems to be comprised mostly of snowbirds, meth addicts, bikers, and cowboys. Kind of an odd place, really.

We faced adversity and danger on the trail. Some teenage b_oners were shooting rocks down the trail, careless and recklessly, but we also came face to face with the infamous rattlesnake. Listen to this guy!

Got caught in a massive downpour on that trail once. Found a cave to duck into and then ran into some old hippies that were probably related to Forbin.

gHost and I indeed faced danger and adversity. Additionally, it was unseasonably hot - over 100 degrees out. Despite starting the hike at 7 in the morning, we had to deal with intense, radiating heat and extreme sun exposure as we came down from the summit. We rose to the occasion and overcame the obstacles we faced to conquer the The Flatiron.
