That was my point i guess which may have been misread. Just doesn't look great when your athletes drive brand new cars. Would make any logical person suspicious

No offense but '13 model year is brand new.

I know.. some swanky-ass cars in the parking lot.. my kid won't be drivin' one of them, I can tell ya that...

Gonna put your kid in something reasonably priced, like a 2011 Dodge Charger?

Congrats self loathing MSU fans - "Huge" is asking the same question you are about the car Nix was in. dramaqueen

No offense to Nix, but if we are going to start paying players we need to go UK one and done style.

Moral of the story your mom was just expecting it and said she could just to see your reaction

Nah my mom was just pissed cause someone had been in her stash and she was accusing me. It was mostly my sister.

No shit other schools are going to question it. I don't think anyone cares what other schools think of us. You're a fool though if you think any form of paying players is happening under Izzo.

Again, and again, and again.....I have not suggested, in any way, shape, or form, that there is anything to truly question here, nor have I suggested that the Izzo program is anything less than completely on the up-and-up. All I've said is that supporters of other teams will question the type of car he was driving and some reporter will explore that issue. That's it. Full stop. Period......

So, you're not saying he didn't pay for it, you're just saying that people are saying he didn't pay for it?

I wonder which numbers I'd leave out though? I mean... skipping 88 seems suspicious.

Probably because $88k is the value of his ballin ride.

Someone should investigate ELHS. Have you seen some of the cars those kids are driving to school?

When I went there 2 of the kids had brand new Oldsmobiles every year....a perk of their father owning a large local Olds dealership at the time I guess....

ummm....not every 21 year old is irresponsible with money shrug. I had a car loan and a credit card I paid off every month by the time I was 21. This is all irrelevant anyway considering we dont even know if he owns the car anyway so I dont even know why you would bring up his credit score of all things.

Yeah but you're probably white and not from Detroit. Sarcasm.

Seriously though, I hate using this word but there are some flat out racist assumptions in this thread. Not everyone from Detroit is poor. For example, several Chrysler, Ford and GM employees live in Detroit city limits and make a nice salary.

Can someone insert the 'that's racist' pic for me. TIA.

Lots of shit happened in the 60's and early 70's. If you weren't a complete hawkish suit you were pretty laid back and understanding.

  • It would seem to be an easy question to address in terms of ownership. If that non-legal and truly minor issue is addressed, I wonder to what degree a plea arrangement could be made as it certainly seems Nix was accomodating to the arresting officer, even overly-so......

  • So putting the team consequences aside, do we have an idea what the legal consequences could be? He's a first time offender as far as I know, are we looking at probation?

    Yes.
Assuming that he has never had a prior drug related offense.
He could keep the Marijuana off the record. (333.7411)
However- being that he actually was charged with "under the influence" of a controlled substance- assuming the blood test comes back positive on that end- that could get knocked down to an impaired.
He does probation and walks away with only an impaired driving on his record.
He would have to do some community service, attending a madd panel, get a subtance abuse assessment, and stay out of trouble.

And Kalin was from Sterling Heights, and went to summer camp high school.

More distressing is a college kid driving a wagon. Somebody needs to look into that.

This will absolutely happen. People are making jokes about it on here, but it is curious.

The question is inherently racist. It isn't an expensive car, it's registered to Barbara Pettway of Detroit, and we'll likely find out she's an aunt, mother, grandmother. Black folks often buy automobiles also so they can drive to work, and I'd bet black parents who have the funds often buy their kids cars, or co-sign for them, just like white parents do.

  • And with an all new model Charger in '12, they gave away the '11s the 2nd half of the year.

You could get a lease for under $200 a month.

But ya know, slaps from other schools are quoting current prices for a Charger SRT with every option, which is really worrisome, to some.

  • The counting backwards problem was probably due more to the MSU math department and not the drugs.
