Gary Harris - 2013 Draft

  • The Gruff said...

I think Payne would be much better at the Power Forward or even Small Forward if he was allowed to dribble and create his own shots. I don't think he's going to be dominant Center due to his weight. He can be dominant player if he's allowed to play like a 3 or 4.

He's too athletic and I hope Izzo allows him to play more than just the Center, especially since we have 3 white boys fighting for PT. (Gauna, Kaminski, Costello)

Payne has a much better chance of being a 5 at the next level, than a 3.

loco he'd be a 4 in the NBA. If he had a choice now he said he'd like to play the 4 or 3. Kid had to learn all his post moves when he got here. He's naturally used to the 4 or 3 as seen by his High School videos. (yes kids were 10 inches shorter) but I think he'd do great at the 4.

    Play

6'10 Adreian Payne Ranked #23 in the country

Here is Future Michigan State player Adreian Payne doing his thing for Jefferson Senior H.S. against Africentric school from Columbus, OH. Adreian did not play much in the game as it was an easy blowout from the very beginning. Jefferson went on to win by 32 points but not without Adreian showing why he is so dominant. He had several blocks without leaving his feet, and numerous dunks. Music: Ragnaroc One-Take Beats www.onetakebeats.com www.annodominirecords.net

Thinking he should play the 3 for us is even more crazy. He's a good athlete for his size, and has a decent looking shot. But he doesn't have the skills to even be a below-average wing player.

He can play the 4 offensively for us. Defensively, he struggled guarding anybody that didn't sit on the blocks all game.

  • Apparently not much has changed since the season began.....IMO, GH comes back and leaves after sophomore season.

Man, Philadelphia and Charlotte will be in the lottery again next year with those picks (Zeller and Plumlee).rottentomato

  • Crazy that most HS seniors are older than Gary

  • The NBA lottery machine has the pistons taking gary in every scenario they aren't a lottery pick (around 98% of the scenarios). Would it be worth it? Not to me, but would definitely be awesome if he were to leave

  • If Harris was to leave, I would want him in a Pistons jersey. That would be awesome.

A facebook friend of mine posted a screen of him using the simulator, I flipped.

The first sentence doesn't make sense

The Lottery machine is only for lottery picks

Gary Harris is currently in the top 10 of NBA prospects.

what I want to know is why does it say his negative is a need to increase his shooting range. He's shooting 50+% from deep. what in the hell do they expect him to do? start launching half court shots in games

Indeed it is, but 10 coming before 14 means that he falls under the definition of a lottery pick.

edit: ahh, I read the original post we're talking about wrong. I think he means if the Pistons ARE a lottery pick.

If he does go in the 2013 draft, then good for him, because it means he had very good success and MSU did pretty damn well...

I saw an article yesterday that said that todays college hoops is becoming more and more about who can get that guy that NBA ready to stay that extra year.

If we could get one year of Parker and Harris together (assuming we get Parker), that would be unreal!!!

    About that....

Only three teams are chosen in the lottery though and they're seeded by record after. It was pretty obvious to everyone but you that I meant in every scenario except when the pistons are one of the three teams chosen in the lottery.

This was my thought as well. He might come back for more, sure, but I can definitely see him coming back for a year to prove he can stay healthy and if he has another solid season, making the jump.
