I hope at the proper time, else embarrassment, pain, or both could occur.

Great point. I'd hate for him to go on the field prematurely.

True but we were recruiting some of those DLmen that we didnt get pretty hard. Think about a class that could of had J Johnson and S Pittman to top off what we already had. Those 2 probably would have both pushed for immediate playing time in the rotation.

Those 2 would not have pushed for immediate PT. Pittman = Calhoun, and the staff nearly pulled Calhoun's RS this past year. SC would be playing over Pittman. Johnson was a NT, and with White and Reynolds, I doubt a true FR would just burst into the line-up. MSU is past the point with the program where they need multiple true FR to contribute every year. A handful will play, mostly on special teams, with the exception of the WRs this year and probably a TE or two.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

  • Overall, I like this class. I'm not predicting that they're going to help MSU win multiple NCs, but this class appears to be in line with the past 3 classes ('09-'11): more 4-stars than 2-stars and a lot guys who look like Big 10 players. Ultimately we won't know how good this class is till around 2014, likely not till '15, same as all the other classes.
