What about the Parkwood YMCA? I think my membership is $50 a month.

I'm guessing the MAC is more than a 100 a month?

It's still pretty nice, Andre Hutson is the new owner. The rates have gone up though, from the website:

Single member is $35.99 a month
Family of 2 is $65.00 a month
Students are $25.99 a month (must be enrolled full time (proof of transcript)
Law enforcement, Hawk Hallow, Eagle Eye, and Hawk's Nest residents are $29.99 a month

It's a smaller gym, but has a solid amount and variety of equipment. I definitely recommend at least checking it out.

State of Fitness is a great gym. Located in the strip mall just west of the railroad track overpass on Grand River, between EL and Okemos. Check out www.stateoffitness.com

I go to Snap Fitness. I use both the Okemos and Haslett locations. Haslett has more space but also has more people and more trainers. It frustrates the hell out of me when they have 3 or 4 trainers working at a time. Therefore, during the week I usually go to Okemos. The area with the free weights is uncomfortably narrow and they don't have as much room for ab work but it's less cluttered with people and therefore much more enjoyable.

$100/month?? Even Powerhouse is only $30/month.

I'm at Powerhouse, very nice gym. In East Lansing but depending on where you are in Okemos still pretty close.

I am a Powerhouse guy also. I like it there, but it does get really busy between the time the students come back and Spring Break.

Plenty of good scenery though...
