Harbaugh to the Niners - OFFICIAL

  • Jimmy eats world and Brandon hires a search firm.

Now that Harbaugh has driven the cost of coaching Stanford up to a decent level I wouldn't be surprised if Hoke would listen to Stanford's people if they called.

Stanford will choose someone from inside. If they choose from outside, they'll lose their QB.

  • Was the Michigan offer of five plus official or was that something I just read on a message board?

  • $25 million ....geeeez. The flavor of the week just became a rich, rich man.

What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...

A lot lower than most thought it would be, so props to the Yorks there.

So, just before leaving work today I told the U of M guy in the office that, "Hey I see they took down that Michigan Head Coach job listing I forwarded you earlier this afternoon."

He says, "Really?!.......I wonder if that means they hired someone?" lol

I said, "Who knows? Maybe they took it down after having to list it for a required amount of time or something like that."

Him: "Oh, I doubt it. I bet they landed Harbaugh afterall!"

Me (after knowing full well that Harbaugh chose the 49er's job): "Huh, maybe. Who knows?"

Him: "Oh man, that would send shivers down the spines of everyone in Columbus and East Lansing wouldn't it? South Bend too!"

Me: "That would be a huge win for Michigan. Maybe Brandon DOES know what he's doing?"

He left all upbeat and satisfied. I wonder how the 6:00 news treated him?

    What a dick....

    Awesome

  • Has anyone read this article on Stephen Ross, the Scum Alum that ownes the Miami Dolphins?

No wonder Harbaugh took the 49'ers job!!!

  • This coaching search will hopefully continue to go swimmingly for scUM. No matter who they hire though, everyone in the media will say they got the best man for the job. It's like when they said Rodriguez was the best man for the job despite being their 5th choice or so.

  • A thank you out to Bike Hart.

To this day, I believe this comment in 2007...

“He says we don’t have great student-athletes, but he just accepted one of our transfers,” Hart said. “What kind of sense does that make? Obviously, he wants guys like us at his school. I don’t know how he can say that. He’s not a Michigan man. I wish he’d never played here.”

forever shut the door on Harbaugh coaching at Meeeechigan. In fact, it was all the better because, 3 years later when everyone believed all was forgiven, Harbaugh flips UM the bird as he heads off to San Fran.

    Again, thank you lil' Mikey.

Hmmm....in 1997 Mike Hart was around 11 years old, so I kinda doubt he said this at that time. Perhaps you meant 2007??

    This.

If JH actually gave a sheet about uofm, he would have told them to bugger off right after the MSU loss.

  • I don't know if any of you listened to Jim Harbaugh's press conference but he was asked about which offers he got and why he picked San Francisco. He said he got a few offers in the college level...paused..and said he got offers to stay at Stanford and go to Michigan. He said both of them are his Universities and he loves them both.

So it looks like Brandon did offer Harbaugh that reported 5.2 Million to come and coach Michigan. As soon as I heard that..Harbaugh blew Brandon's spot.

  • Question:
On what options he was weighing the last four days and what was important to him in those options:

[Jim Harbaugh] “Well it was with a great humility that I tell you that I had some options at the college level and pro teams, and two that I like to highlight are Stanford and Michigan, both of whom I consider my universities. They have great leaders at those schools and will hire great coaches. I just felt like it was what I wanted to do at this time was coach in the National Football League. The San Francisco 49ers, with the two men that I talked to in Jed York in Trent Baalke, getting to know them, just talking football with them, hearing their vision, hearing their plan for the organization and how they are going to go about winning. So much you know was the same that I thought about work ethic and integrity and doing it with class and doing it as a team. You know with broad shoulders, everybody fighting for who takes the accountability was just something that I felt strongly about that gave me the competitive opportunity to win, and that’s something that you have to do at this level. I mean, without excuse, without hesitation, losing is not an option and that’s what we aim to do.”

Looks like Brandon reached out and got rejected...lol hahaha
