Heart of a Spartan 5K

  • In 2010 they had a race called Heart of a Spartan that finished at the 50 yard line of Spartan Stadium. I thought that sounded pretty cool but I haven't seen anything about it since then. Did they have a similar event in 2011 or anything planned for the future? Anyone know?

    Unfortunately. The group that planned it has a yearly race that ends at the Big House as well. They are based out of AA, and that was the only Heart of a Spartan race.

    I believe they have a Heart of Michigan race though that ends on the Capitol lawn.

  • The word was that LKS was upset that she couldn't get into her office easily during the race so the kibosh was put on future races through campus. I did the Big House/Big Heart race in AA last year (wearing MSU gear) and it was a nice set up. Did leave some DNA on the Block M on the 50 however ;pukeface Did the 5K Splatter Run at MSU this past Sunday. Would have been nice to finish in Spartan Stadium.

    That sucks. The Big House/Big Heart race was last Sunday. I read about it and thought it would be sweet if they held an event like that at MSU. I would definitely run a race that finished at the 50 in Spartan Stadium.

    That would be some petty BS by LKS if true.

    I remember hearing about the race and then waiting a year thinking how sweet it would be only to read that they were running it down to the capital.
