Damn! Nice victory by MSU. Three unanswered goals by MSU in the third period. Niagara screwed themselves with penalties, but that one they got was a clean check. I don't think MSU scored on that PP, though. Really good effort against a solid Niagara team. Kinda reminded me of a Ferris the way they played defense, but made the most of scoring chances. Fortunately, for us, Yanakeff stepped up in the last half of the game. Did well.

Really happy with these stats, A. Allen. Particularly the faceoffs. Much better than we've been in recent years.

I can't wait to see how they come out tomorrow. Definitely a good win for MSU tonight after what I thought was kind of a slow start. The shot numbers might be a little off just based on how much time they spent on the power-play in the 3rd period, but nice to see them finish with 20 shots in the 3rd period alone (especially knowing it was a period where they needed to find some offense since they were down 0-2 going into it).

Still some mistakes in their own zone they'll need to clean-up as the season goes on, but with so many freshman on the ice every night, those mistakes are to be expected. Hopefully they'll continue to grow as a team.

What do you think the chances are we'll see different goalies for each team tomorrow?

I think we'll see both goaltenders tomorrow, too. Chubak has two great periods before MSU started to pour it on. I think his performance tonight cemented him as Niagara's starter for the rest of the year.

Anastos has gone with Yanakeff in every game this season and outright refused to pull him when things got dire in Minneapolis. I think Anastos sees Yanakeff as the team's everyday starter.

Where do you guys watch these games? I want to start following college without the NHL sseason.

Also, quite unexpectedly, Penn State lost 3-0 to D-III school buffalo state, tonight. That one's gotta hurt.

I guess time will tell about Niagara this year. I'm not ready to call them a solid team after they lost 10-2 to Colgate earlier this season. They might turn out to be ok and it definitely looks like they've found their goalie for the season (he didn't play in the 10-2 loss, both back-ups combined to give up 10 goals on 35 shots).

That being said, good win and hopefully the team that was out there in the 3rd period last night is the same team that starts the game tonight. I thought Niagara had a little more jump early in the game tonight.

It looks like all but 3 home games will be available on TV if you're a Comcast subscriber. There are also 10 games scheduled for NBC Sports, Fox Sports Detroit, and the Big Ten Network if you aren't a Comcast customer (Because obviously you won't get the Comcast channel that's showing the rest of the games)

Also, if you want to get into college hockey more in general (not just MSU), I expect NBC sports may pick-up more games if the NHL lockout continues. The CBS College Sports channel also shows some hockey and if you have the sports package through Comcast (I believe DirecTV also carries these), the Fox College Sports channels pick-up a lot of Minnesota and North Dakota hockey, as well as a decent number of games from the East coast (especially on Friday nights...Saturday night they pretty much are filled with football games until December)
