Hour long finale of BTN's "The Journey" tonight, BTT & MSU focus

  • Fantastic episode .... love Izzo's pledge to win the title back.

Day day is awesome as usual. I did enjoy the Leanard story .... really like that kid. He may be a big body and looks like an adult but listening to him talk ... he's still a boy. He needs a man around to help him for the next 5 years. I'm worried about him.

Ditto on the awesome finale - munnwife and munnson enjoyed as well. Is it just me or does the player insights bring out how much we don't know about the types of kids that are out there in non spartan uniforms? The Myers Leonard piece was incredibly moving and changes my view of him as just an overrated big man on a bad team.

    More on Meyers Leonard.........great story.

It suddenly got very dusty in my house during that part. I'm going to have to fire my maid.

For the most part, but the clips of Novak taking his shirt off to play grab-ass with his teammates just reinforced my prior view.

Agree - they back doored their way into the conf champs and then backdoored each other. Beilien's comments on how they are going to keep fighting until the other team submits is crap. Toughness is not a word you associate with a team that shoots 30 3-pointers

It's not what Izzo, Dantonio and Hollis are accomplishing, its the way they are accomplishing it

Check BTNtoGo. They have online on demand episodes of stuff.

Confirmed, it is availible. You just have to have the right cable/sat provider to see it.

Another episode that highlights just how bad our radio coverage is. He got it! He GOT it! Heeee got it!

LIstened to the second half on the radio. At least the score was being said more often now. Makes me content, for now.

  • I understand scUM should be happy with a co-Big Ten championship, but the shots of them celebrating as if they had just won it outright on the court was kind of pathetic. They celebrated more than OSU did actually winning it themselves. You'd have thought they just cut down the nets in New Orleans.

  • GREAT episode.

My favorite parts or parts that stand out:

Izzo CALLING OUT that they'd win the BTT on senior night after not clinching outright.

Day Day doing the same after the Iowa game (or maybe Wisconsin)

Sullinger shoulder bumping Day Day (what a turd)

Meyers and his bro - kid had a tough life and its no wonder he is considering going pro to help his fam.

Sullingers comments before the BTT final that the game would determine the true B1G champ

Just the inside look at these players. Makes you hate them less seeing them off the court. Jordan Taylor seems like a pretty cool dude. Burke isn't that bad.

Funny to see UM cheering for OSU

Lastly, the camera angles and shit are awesome. Showing a player on the court in focus then focusing in between his arm and body to show Izzo behind him on the sideline. Creative / artistic.

Double lastly - how can you doubt our team after watching that? They said they'd win the BTT and then went out and did it. They just have the will to do whatever it takes.

  • Love the format of no voice over narrator.

Its almost impossible to write a script for stuff like this without sounding totally cliched or maudlin.

Letting the player/announcers dialogue carry the story is perfect.

  • Me too. I found the entire episode pretty emotional for some reason.

  • Finally saw this tonight. Easily the best episode of The Journey that I've ever seen (obviously helped by MSU capping off the episode with the B1G tourney win). I agree with earlier posters that the production values of this show are astounding. How many cameras must they have to set up to get so many great shots? Anyway, this season ending episode is required viewing for MSU fans.
