Get ready for more and more of these shady kinds of businesses which prey on the less educated and less fortunate as government regulation is marginalized more and more by the greedy conservatives. Wait until insurance companies are totally deregulated....will be fun to watch!

Buy here pay here is regulated by the state.
The max interest in Mi is 24.99 percent.
The reason places like these flourish is because many people who use them have
stiffed somebody already, thus they have bad credit and a track record of not paying at
all or paying slow/ late.
Why wouldn't a car lot want down payment from somebody who is only there because
They don't pay people
Put 4k down on a car the dealer has say 6500 in and sells for 10k , and you make 3 or 4 payments and stiff him also he is out a couple of grand for selling a dirtballs a car. And the above scenario happens every day.tJYD

it's not okay, but nobody's going to regulate it. You need to have a mechanic look at the car before you purchase it or you are stuck with an as is sale.

Actually these places would rather people not have issues with the car so they don't have to pay to have it repo'ed. And they can
continue to collect interest and get on the
good side of the deal.
Many of these dirtballs who buy from these places don't take care of the car, so in many cases it's not all rosy having to take a car back that might have been decent but is now a turd.
The original comment about the buyer having 4k down is unusual. She continued to display stupidity by not buying a cash car for the 4k, and spending likely no more than 50
bucks to have said car checked out.
Buying a turd Jaguar was an extremely poor
Idea with 4 grand in cash.tJYD

Sorry if I misread she had 4 grand
But I didnt misread you let her buy a car that easily has among the worst reputations on the planet
I guarantee you these reason that car was there was because the book value is high, but at auctions they are dirt cheap because dealers know they are a shit car......
That said, he bought it knowing it's likely some dunce like you would come around and he could knock your/ her head off.

I then asked them about the price of the cars, the salesperson told me that they do not disclose the price of the car until you sign on the contract. At this point I have this cock-eyed look ready to leave, but my friend in need of a car asked me to just test drive one or 2. I said it's on you.

You just answered your own question...it's on the consumer to not do business with that company.
Physically battering a person and then following that up with an assault...I hope they didn't call the police because they could still get you.
